Gwyn resided in Granite Falls, Caldwell County, North Carolina His obituary appeared as follows: Gwyn Lewis Shook – 65, of 4448 Charthouse Lane in Granite Falls died Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Lutheran Home in Hickory. Born October 20, 1936 in Catawba County; he was the son of the late Jason Heber and Zora Lanier Shook. He was an employee of MDI for 35 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Shook. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Mark E. and Ramona Shook, and Kelly G. and Wanda Shook of Hickory; a grandson, Austin W. Shook of Hickory; brothers, Ray Shook of Columbia, SC, Hugh Shook and Carroll Shook of Hickory; sisters, Clyda Fox, Mary Gantt, Rosa Shook, Lena Fox, Ruth Cook, Helen Martin, Pearl Watts all of Hickory and Frances Langley of Claremont. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Drum Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Paul J. FitzPatrick will officiate and burial will follow at the St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod Cemetery.
