Born July 21, 1929, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Franklin D. Punch and Lilly Summers Punch. She was a member of Fairgrove United Methodist Church in Hickory and a former sales associate for Belk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Robert Wright, and two brothers. Survivors include daughters, Connie Wright of Hickory and Debra Darnell and husband, Carroll, of Newton; grandchildren, Eric Underwood, Jessica Darnell and Roger Darnell; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Coulter of Newton; a niece, Melissa Shook; and a nephew, Michael Coulter. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., today, Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Fairgrove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Talmadge Cheek will officiate. The family will receive friends, prior to the graveside service, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Fairgrove United Methodist Church, 1800 Fairgrove Church Road, Conover, N.C. 28613.
