NEWTON — Fannie Queen Bolick Punch, 95, of Abernethy Center, formerly of Northwest Boulevard, Newton, died July 16, 2003, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born March 27, 1908, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jeffrey and Mittie Turner Queen She retired from Yount Glove Mill, Newton, and was a former nurse’s assistant at the Abernethy Center and Abernethy Memorial Day Care Center. She was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church in Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Eugene Bolick; her second husband, Frank Punch; a son, Norman Kenneth Bolick; three sisters, Virgie Killian, Ruby Queen and Junie Buff; and four brothers, Albert Queen, Grady Queen, Chancie “Hess” Queen and Crawford Queen. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Louise Bolick Setzer and husband, Cyril L. Setzer, of Newton and Peggy Joyce Sims and husband, Glenn P. Sims, of Holden Beach; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby E. Bolick and wife, Patricia Ann Bolick, of Newton; two sisters, Laura Mae Ussery of Newton and Daisy Smyre of Conover; a brother, Walter Queen of Seaford, Del.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. The funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church in Newton with the Rev. Rick Mills officaiting. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight, July 18, 2003, at Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Memorials may be made to Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 403, Newton, N.C. 28658. The Bolick family has entrusted arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremations in Conover.
