David Lee HUFFMAN was born on 5 March 1936 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 7 October 2012 at the age of 76 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. He was buried in Catawba United Methodist Church Cemetery, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: LENOIR David Lee Huffman, 76, of Main St., Catawba, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley. He was born March 5, 1936, in Catawba County, to the late Willie R. and Alice Eades Huffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda C. Huffman; one son, Lee Huffman; one daughter, Leslie Yates; and one sister, Mae Eades. Mr. Huffman owned and operated Catawba Produce. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly H. Oliver and husband, Shawn, of Lenoir; companion, Peggy Wallace; one sister, Shirley Elliott, of Catawba; six grandchildren, Adam Moose, Wesley Saunders, Jordon Lyons, Reanna Oliver, Kalob Oliver and Alley Oliver; and two great-grandchildren, Payton Moose and Braylon Saunders. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at Catawba Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Bryan Davis.
