520. Robert Alvin KAYLOR was born on 7 February 1889.³⁰³ He died on 6 January 1947 at the age of 57.²⁰⁹ He was buried in Marvin Methodist Ch. Cem., Alexander Co., North Carolina. Robert, while working on the Hickory City Hall in the late 1920's, fell

through an elevator shaft and fractured his spine. This accident left him
paralyzed from the waist down.

Robert Alvin KAYLOR and Anne Mae KILLIAN were married in 1908. Anne Mae KILLIAN was born on 18 May 1888 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 23 March 1961 at the age of 72 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Marvin Methodist Ch. Cem., Alexander Co., North Carolina.

1601	v.	Verdie Pauline KAYLOR was born on 28 October 1917 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 19 November 2012 at the age of 95 in Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Pauline Kaylor Mitchell, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, having spent 95 years on her earthly pilgrimage, quietly made the journey into paradise Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. Family and friends mourn our loss but also celebrate that she is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. Mitchell; and son, Brent L. Mitchell. Survivors include four children, Clyde Jerry Mitchell, Kay M Jenkins and husband, Rev. Dcn. Michael Jenkins, Dianne M Huffman and Kavin D. Mitchell and wife, Darlene. She was dearly loved by 10 grandchildren, Gary Mitchell and wife, Renee, Keith Jones and wife, Nancy, Angela McLawhorn and husband, Bradley, Chris Johnston and wife, Keelie, Amber C. Huffman, Megan H. Peterson and husband, Lin, Callie N. Mitchell, Ariel D. Mitchell and Cody Mitchell; eight great-grand-children; seven great-great-grandchildren; and her faithful niece, Jane K. Sigmon. An order of burial and celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m., at Highland United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member. The Revs. Elizabeth Graves and Michael Jenkins will officiate. Pauline's grandsons and nephews will honorably serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to The Towel Ministry of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 5165 Hayes Waters Rd., Morganton, NC 28655, the Lutheran Home, 1265 21st St. NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or the charity of your choice.
