Senior Reserves. Born on August 7, 1816, in the part of Lincoln County that later became Catawba County. Was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting at Newton at age 47, June 2, 1864, for the war. No further records. He died on 15 May 1881 at the age of 64 in Cline's Township, Catawba County, North Carolina.270,274 He was buried in St. John's Lutheran Church (MO Synod) Cemetery, Conover, Catawba County, NC.
