13. William HERMAN⁷⁰ was born on 13 August 1792 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.^3,8,71,72 He died on 24 February 1862 at the age of 69 in Catawba County, North Carolina.⁷¹ He was buried in Old St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, NC. In his young days he taught singing, hence he was called "Master Bill." In later life he was a farmer and doctor.

William HERMAN and Elizabeth KILLIAN were married on 21 December 1813 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.^8,73,74,75 Elizabeth KILLIAN, daughter of Samuel C. KILLIAN and Barbara HAGER, was born on 5 October 1794 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.^{71,72,76,77,78,79} She died on 29 March 1881 at the age of 86 in Catawba County, North Carolina.⁷¹ She was buried in Old St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, NC.

William HERMAN and Elizabeth KILLIAN had the following children:

Clarissa HERMAN was born on 9 October 1814 in Iredell County, North Carolina.^{28,72,77,79,80} She died on 14 February 1900 at the age of 85 in Catawba County, North Carolina.⁸⁰ She was buried in St. Timothy Lutheran Church Cemetery near Conover, Catawba County, NC. Aged 85y 4m 5d Clarissa remained unmarried by Remained single. Was in household of her brother, Henry A. Herman in 1880.
