Born Sept. 22, 1931, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Garland Setzer and Myrtle Sigmon Setzer. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church and worked for Carolina Glove Company and as a janitor for the Catawba County School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bennie Setzer. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Glenn Lucas Putnam; daughter, Susanne Chafin and her husband, Danny; sons, Larry Putnam and his wife, Angela, Eugene Putnam and his wife, Donna, Bobby Putnam and his wife, Elesa, Billy Putnam and Johnny Putnam and his wife, Angie; grandchildren, Chad Putnam, Jeremy Putnam, Jordan Putnam, Ashley Putnam and his wife, Heather, Michael Putnam, Carrie Putnam, Brandy Campbell and her husband, Kelly, Luke Putnam, Lindsey Putnam, Mark Chafin and his fiancee, Adrianne, and Tracey Chafin; great-grandchildren, Riley Campbell, Amber Moore and Tyler Moore; sister, Pinkie Thompson; and brothers, Harvey Setzer, Coyte Setzer and Clinton Setzer. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at Center United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paula B. Northrup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Center United Methodist Church.
