3780. Richard Carpenter CLINE was born on 4 November 1919 in Catawba Township, Catawba County, North Carolina.²⁰⁹ He died at his home, of cancer on 7 August 1993 at the age of 73 in Vale, Lincoln County, North Carolina.

5971	ii.	Richard Calvin CLINE was born on 16 September 1958.²⁰⁹ He died on 19 October 2010 at the age of 52 in Kingman, Arizona. His obituary appeared as follows: VALE - Richard Calvin Cline, 52, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in Arizona. Born Sept. 16, 1958, he was the son of Catherine Hallman Cline of Vale and the late Richard Carpenter Cline. Following high school, Calvin began working in construction. He later decided to change his profession to a truck driver. Over the years he worked for Saine & Heavner, Piedmont Express and was presently employed by Houser Transport in Vale. For recreation he enjoyed playing golf with his buddies, watching TV and resting. Survivors include his wife, Tina Kovar Cline of the home; a stepson, Dusty Kovar of Vale; a sister, Lealta Smith of Maiden; a brother, Robert Cline of Vale. A niece, Christina Cline Hill, preceded him in death. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Messiah United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bill Draughn officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony. Memorials may be made to Messiah United Methodist Church, 4102 W. Hwy. 27, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092.
