Born Oct. 24, 1921, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Alice Dietz SIGMON. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Daniel Rinck Sr. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Milam and husband, Charles, of Hickory; a son, Paul Daniel Rinck Jr. and wife, Peggy, of the home; three sisters, Goldie Hedrick of Conover, Estelle Elrod and Cindy Wright and husband, Lex, of Hickory; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Catherine SIGMON of Hickory. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Homer F. Greene at 11 a.m. Saturday in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will be at Hickory Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Barbara (Rinck) RINK was born on 30 January 1941 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 31 May 2012 at the age of 71 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY – Barbara Rinck Milam, 71 of Hickory, passed away on May 31, 2012 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born January 30, 1941 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Paul D. and Bertha Sigmon Rinck. Mrs. Milam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed baking and canning for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Milam Sr. Survivors include her sons, Paul Milam and wife Tina of Hickory, Charles Milam of Hickory, and Danny Milam and wife Sherry of Granite Falls; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and brother, Paul Daniel Rinck Jr. and wife Peggy of Newton. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11 AM at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-10:45 at Catawba Funerals & Cremations.
