She was buried in Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 16 and Springs Road, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Goldie Hermene Sigmon Hedrick, 85, born Feb. 2, 1924, went home to be with her Savior on May 28, 2009, after a brief illness. Ms. Goldie was a charter member of Oxford Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her adult Sunday school class. She also enjoyed gardening, baking and talking with her friends on the phone and an occasional trip to "Jo-Bangles." She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Earl and Mary Alice Dietz Sigmon; her husband, Dale L. Hedrick Sr.; an infant daughter, Judy Diane Hedrick; sisters, Estelle Elrod, Catherine Herman, Bertha Rink, Lois Wright and Elsie Marie Sigmon; and brothers, Curtis Earl Sigmon and Charles Ray Sigmon. She is survived by her children, sons, Dale (Patricia) Hedrick of Claremont and Terry (Kathy) Hedrick of Conover; a daughter, Patricia (Harold) Sigmon of Claremont; seven grandchildren, Pamela Hedrick, Larry (Cindy) Hedrick, Willard (Linda) Hedrick, Chasity (Gene) Elliott, Bruce (Mindi) Hedrick, Brent Hedrick and Jacob Hedrick; nine great-grandchildren, Brandon, Devin and Travis Partin, Amber Moore, Alisha Hedrick, Brandon and Taylor Hedrick, Paityn Pope and Lillie Hedrick; three great-great-grandchildren, Dalton Partin, Ethan Partin and Ryan Partin; a sister, Mary (Lex) Wright; sisters-in-law, Catherine Sigmon and Alma Winters; and a number of nieces and nephews and friends. A service of remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Oxford Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joel Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Saturday, at Oxford Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church, Senior Adult Ministry, 5965 Springs Road, Conover, N.C. 28613.
