2695. Geitner Everette DEAL¹⁷³⁷ was born on 21 August 1922 in Catawba, Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 4 June 2009 at the age of 86 in Brian Center, Viewmont, Catawba County, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: CATAWBA - Geitner "Bud" Deal, 86, of Catawba, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Brian Center-Viewmont in Hickory. Mr. Deal was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Catawba County to the late Russell R. Deal and Floy Spencer Deal. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served his country in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mayda Gonzales Deal; an infant daughter; a son, Geitner E. Deal; and a brother, Junius R. Deal. Bud is survived by his daughters, Jean Ward and husband, Kenneth, of Indio, Calif., Hazel Zeimer and husband, Robert, of Texas and Mary Deal of Garden Grove, Calif.; a son, Glenn Deal of Vernal, Utah; a sister-in-law, Georgie Mae Deal of Catawba; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Craig Schultz officiating. Military graveside honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
