Harold William MILLER was born on 26 October 1920 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 12 April 2011 at the age of 90 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER Harold W. Miller, 90, of Conover, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born Oct. 26, 1920, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Loy Franklin and Zelda Pearl Hawn Miller. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from United Family Life Insurance Company in 1986 after over 20 years of service. After retirement, he worked part-time for Drum Funeral Home. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church of Hickory and also attended Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church in Newton. He was a member of the Newton Senior Citizens Club and Catawba Valley Medical Center for Rehabilitation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Jeannine Miller; sister, Dorothy Miller Reed; brother, Charles F. Miller. Survivors include his daughter, Teresa J. Miller, of Wilkesboro; a son, Timothy W. Miller, of Raleigh; sisters, Helen Miller Frye, of Sacramento, Calif.; Evelyn Miller Pitts, Mary Frances Miller Yount, Revonda Miller Harris, Barbara Miller Isenhour, all of Hickory; brothers, Joe E. Miller and John A. Miller, both of Hickory. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Zion Luthern Church in Hickory on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 3 p.m. with the Revs. John Woodard, Jim Church and Rosa Erickson officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
