2417. Mary Nell SETZER was born on 14 May 1924 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died after a period of declining health on 15 April 2003 at the age of 78 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Mary Nell Setzer Fish, 78, of Old Catawba Road, Claremont, NC died April 15, 2003 at Catawba Valley Medical Center after a period of declining health. Born May 14, 1924 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Hoyle C. and Blakie Hawn Setzer. An active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, she was a loving mother and homemaker for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Baxter Fish, and a brother Ned Setzer. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law: Joe B. Fish, Jr. and wife Connie S. Fish of Greensboro, R. Wayne Fish and wife Pilar Medina Fish of Bowie, MD; Sisters: Mae Killian of Hickory, Katherine S. Buchanan of Danville, VA, Dorothy Reed of Conover; Brothers: George Setzer of Maiden, Ryan Setzer of Newton, Hoyle Setzer, Jr. of Claremont; 4 Grandchildren; A number of Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont. Rev. Dr. Larry Melton will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
