2422. Dorothy Ann "Dot" SETZER was born on 13 July 1938 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died She fought a four-year battle with breast cancer on 15 January 2006 at the age of 67 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Claremont, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows:2596 CONOVER - Dorothy “Dot” Ann Setzer Reed, 67, of Conover, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006. She fought a four-year battle with breast cancer. She was strong and defiant until the end. She was an inspiration to all of her family and friends, never complaining about her illness. She was born the youngest of eight children to the late Hoyle and Blakie Setzer of Catawba. She married her second-grade sweetheart 47 years ago. She owned and operated Midway Carpet Distributors in Newton for 15 years and worked there for 22 years. She loved her rose garden and was an avid rose grower. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ned Setzer; and a sister, Mary Fish. She is survived by her husband, Charles Reed of the home; two daughters, Karen Reed Abernathy and husband, Von, of Catawba, and Andrea Reed Pampillionio and husband, Peter, of Charlotte; a son, Gregory A. Reed of Denver; three grandchildren, Courtney Smith of Greenville, and Colby and Christian Pampillionio of Charlotte; two sisters, Katherine Buchanan of Danville, Va., and Mae Killian of Hickory; three brothers, Rhyne Setzer of Newton, George Setzer of Maiden and Hoyle (Junior) Setzer of Catawba; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Setzer and June Setzer of Catawba, and Carol Reed Pope of Hickory; two brothers-in-law, Ray Reed of Catawba and Worth Killian of Hickory; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont, with Pastors Scott Bollinger and Russell Boggs and Vicar Jason Lee officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton.
