Larry Wayne HEFNER was born on 2 March 1936 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 4 January 2013 at the age of 76 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. He was buried in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Hickory, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Larry Wayne Hefner, 76, of Hickory, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born March 2, 1936, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Cletus Ray Hefner and Margaret Louise Killian Hefner. He was a member of the Mt. View Mennonite Church and was retired from the automotive industry. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Millholland. Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Hefner; son, Jeffrey Wayne Hefner and wife, Janelle, of Westfield, N.Y.; daughters, Sandra Yates, of Con-over, Sharon Hollar, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Angela Ross and husband, Michael Allen, of Conover; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; and sister, Mary Alice Sigmon, of Hickory. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home, in Hickory, with the Revs. Chuck Hostetter and Edward Godshall officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home, in Hickory.
