3563. Linda R. SIGMON was born on 21 March 1916 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 8 February 2004 at the age of 87 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in St. Peter's Lutheran Church cemetery, north of Conover, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Linda R. Sigmon, 87, of Springs Road, Conover, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born March 21, 1916, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Pinkney Bruce and Prudy Keller Sigmon. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Conover, and had retired from Suggs and Hardin Furniture. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Smith M. Sigmon; a sister, Lucille Hefner; and two brothers, Hugh Sigmon and Charles Bruce Sigmon. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Becky Arrowood and husband, Kenneth, and Gaye Marlowe and husband, Bob, of Claremont and Melissa Sigmon of Conover; a grandson, Justin Marlowe of Chapel Hill; and two sisters, Eva Whitener of Hickory and Pinkie Eckard of Conover. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The Revs. Paul D. Birner and Delbert Roth will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. today, Tuesday, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Goble, the Rev. Rick Eckard, Brian Sigmon, David Waters, Wilson Sigmon, Larry Sigmon, Darrell Sigmon and Justin Marlowe. Linda R. SIGMON and Smith Martin SIGMON were married about 1935. Smith Martin SIGMON, son of Leslie (Leslie?) Ezra SIGMON and Ada C. [Bolch] BOLICK, was born on 20 May 1915 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 18 February 2001 at the age of 85 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in St. Peter's Lutheran Church cemetery, north of Conover, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Smith Martin SIGMON, 85, of Springs Road, died Feb. 18, 2001, at Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory. Born May 20, 1915, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Leslie E. and Ada Cedonia Bolick SIGMON. A member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover, he retired from Sherrill Furniture and was a cattle farmer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll SIGMON and Herman Sigmon; two infant brothers; and two sisters, Ara Kiziah and Gaynell Little. Survivors include his wife, Linda S. SIGMON; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Melissa SIGMON of the home, and Becky and Ken Arrowood and Gaye and Bob Marlowe of Claremont; two sisters, Estelle Herman of Maryland and Marcella SIGMON of Claremont; and a grandson, Justin Marlowe of Chapel Hill. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Paul Birner and Paul Sundbom at 11 a.m. Tuesday at his church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
