175. James Ellis HARMON was born on 8 September 1858 in North Carolina.⁴⁸⁷ He died on 3 March 1947 at the age of 88 in Banner Elk, Avery County, North Carolina.⁴⁸⁹ Death certificate relates that "he was 'out of his mind' for years and was sick most of the time."

James Ellis HARMON and Harriet Mahaley "Haley" TOWNSEND were married about 1884. Harriet Mahaley "Haley" TOWNSEND was born on 13 March 1869. She died on 19 January 1935 at the age of 65.

James Ellis HARMON and Harriet Mahaley "Haley" TOWNSEND had the following children:

611	vi.	Dolphus HARMON was born on 6 January 1896. He died on 29 March 1976 at the age of 80.
612	vii.	Ollie Bell HARMON was born on 26 March 1898. She died on 20 May 1978 at the age of 80.
613	viii.	Jonas Sydney HARMON was born on 23 December 1899. He died on 19 November 1986 at the age of 86.
614	ix.	Lurenia HARMON was born on 3 December 1900. She died on 9 July 1973 at the age of 72.
