His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER Owen "Pete" Percy Wagner, 88, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at his residence. Born June 5, 1923, he was the son of the late Cleatis Wagner and Lucille Winebarger Wagner. He was a retired cabinet maker for Herman-Sipe Company, Jack Sipe Company, and Vance Hollar Cabinet Company. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Elizabeth Wagner, and his brothers, Paul Wagner and Charles Wagner. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Peddy-cord and her husband, Roy, of Claremont; his sons, James Wagner and his wife, Kay, of Newton; Roger Wagner and his wife, Rena, of Hickory, and Gary Wagner and his wife, Donna, of Claremont; his sisters, Rebecca Laws, of Hickory; Virgina Sipe, of Catawba; Ruth McNeely of Conover, and Faye Sig-mon, of Conover; his brothers, Burley Wagner of Charlotte, and Wayne Wagner, of Conover; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, with Rev. Brian Correll presiding. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Con-over. Pallbearers will be Roy Peddycord, Brett Keever, Jason Hedrick, Tyler Wagner, Jamey Little, and Kenny Wagner. She died on 9 February 2006 at the age of 80 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery , Bandys Twp., Catawba County, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Wagner; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include her husband, Owen P. Wagner of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Roy Peddycord of Claremont; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Donna Wagner of Claremont, Roger and Rena Wagner of Hickory and James and Kay Wagner of Startown; five grandchildren, Kennay Wagner, Michael S. Wagner, Brett Keever, Holly Little and Kristy Canipe; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Wagner and Jace Little; a sister, Edith Sigmon of Denton; and two brothers, Coyte Sigmon and Marvin Sigmon of Catawba. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Disher will officiate.
