Mary BOST was born on 24 August 1915 in Newton area, Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 2 July 2008 at the age of 92 in Valdese, Burke County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: VALDESE - Mrs. Mary Bost Squillario, 92, departed this life Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Mary was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Newton, and lived most of her life in Valdese with her husband, George F. Squillario, who preceded her in death, as did her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bost Sr., and brothers, Woodrow and Earl Jr.; and sisters, Brownie, Edna and Thelma. Mary was a member of Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Valdese. Mary obtained a business degree, owned and operated a bridal and gift center, conducted beauty pageants, was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Confederacy and enjoyed sail planes, boating, golf and skiing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Alice Squillario of Dalton; grandson and wife, Jeff and Valorie Squillario of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter and husband, Lee and Jason Nicholls of St. Simons, Ga.; four great-grandchildren; nephew, Phillip Barringer; and nieces, Emiley Koepp, Paulette Lael, and Madylin Eve Clow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to your local Salvation Army in her honor. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Waldensian Presbyterian Church. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
