XXIII.

Dr. John W. McKay, (Son of Neill McKay and Flora McNeill re-
ferred to in Paragraph V above), married Mary James of S.C. Their
children were: Wilson J, Sarah Lavinia, Flora, Mary Isabella, and
Robert. Wilson J., a young man of great promise, graduated with
first distinction at Davidson College in l870. He spoke the
Salutatory. He is now a Minister of the Gospel (D.D.) and married
Sallie Witherspoon.

XXIV.

Reverend Neill McKay (Son of Neill McKay and Flora McNeill
referred to in Paragraph V above), married Sarah James of S.C. first;
their children were Cornelia Adele, and Mary Louise; Cornelia A.
married Major R.McLauchlin (M.M.R.); M.Louise married Silas Salmon.
Reverend Neill McKay's second wife was miss Annie B.Pettigrew of
N.C. She died and was buried with her new born ba[b]ies (twins) in one
grave. Reverend Neill McKay afterwards married Miss Mary Murchi-
son, by whom he had one child Fannie Reid.

XXV.

Isabella McKay (daughter of Neill McKay and Flora McNeill re-
ferred to in Paragraph V above), married Colonel Alexander Murchison
They had no children.

XXVI.

Mary McKay, (daughter of Neill McKay and Flora McNeill re-
ferred to in paragraph V above), married Dr. Murdock McLeod first;
their only child was Mary Murdock who married William Murchison,
who was the son of her Mother's second husband. Dr. Murdock McLeod
died and his widow married Colonel Kenneth Murchison; their child
were McKay, Kate, White, Hill and Kenneth.

XXVII.

Kate McKay, (daughter of Neill McKay and Flora McNeill re-
ferred to in Paragraph V above), married Captain Elias Bryan.
children were Neill McKay, Anna Catherine, James Everett, Murphy
Rosa, and Elwood.

Nothing further is known to me concerning the descendants of
Coll McNeill; they left North Carolina many years since, and
settled in Tennessee.

XXVIII.

Sophie Atkins (daughter of James Atkins and Isabella McNeill
referred to in Paragraph VII above), married John Drake. Their
children are not mentioned in the genealogy.

Isabella Atkins, (daughter of James Atkins and Isabella
McNeill, see Paragraph VII) married John Reid, They had no
children.

XXX.

Benjamin F. Atkins, (son of James Atkins and Isabella Mc-
Neill See Paragraph VII), married Lizzie Milburn in Texas; their
children were Hallie and Milburne, Milburne only living; Benjamin
E.Atkins died in Waco, Texas, October, l874, aged about 74 years.
James Atkins died, and his widow Isabella married Rev. John
Prefoy; they had no children.

Sarah McNeill, (daughter of John McNeill and Janet McAllister
see Paragraph VIII), married Daniel Shaw. Their children -----------.

XXXII.

Flora McNeill, (daughter of John McNeill and Janet McAllister
see Paragraph VIII), married Henry Atkins; their children ---------.

XXXIII.

John McNeill(son of John McNeill and Janet McAllister, see
Paragraph VIII), married Roxanna Worth; their children were Martitia
Sallie, Cornelia; Martitia married J.Marshall Williams; Sallie
married John Hodges; Cornela married George Elliott.

XXXIV.

Janet Ann McNeill, (daughter of John McNeill and Janet Murch-
ison, second wife of John McNeill, See Paragraph VIII), married
Robert Harris; their children were Anna Roberta and Carolina; Anna
Roberta married John McIver; Carolina married James Davis.

James McAllister, (son of Alexander McAllister and Ann Wright,
see Paragraph IX) married Frances Shepherd; their children were
Joseph and Annie E, and two sons died in childhood; Joseph resides
at Winslow, Harnett County, N.C. Annie E married ------ Nixon.

XXXVI.

Mary McAllister, (daughter of Alexander McAllister and Ann
Wright, See Paragraph LX), married James Mitchell; they had no
children.

XXXVII.

John McAllister, (son of Alexander McAllister and Ann Wright,
see Paragraph IX), married Cynthia Adams. Their children - - - - --.

XXXVIII.

Janet A. McAllister, (daughter of Alexander McAllister and Ann
Wright, see Paragraph IX), married Dr.John A. McMannen; their children
were Alexander and Rosa; Alexander died unmarried, Rosa married -----
Mann; left one child, a female. The marriage of Janet McAllister and
Dr. McMannen proved an unhappy one; and the parties are now (l870)
living separate from one another.

Myrtle, I was searching for John A McMannen and found the McAllister history on your site. It states that Janet McAlister married Dr. John A McMannen. ··· Janet married Dr. LeRoy Dewitt McMannen, son of Rev. John A McMannen (or Orange County, NC). The part where they separated fits because Leroy and Rosa are list in the 1870 census living with his parents in Durham. How can I find out where Janet is buried. Leroy is buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham. He served as an assistant surgeon in the War, first with NC Troops then with 24th Georgia, the medical unit.

XXXIX.

Janet McLean, (daughter of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister,
see paragraph X), married John Murchison; their children were Kenneth,
Catharine Isabella, and Flora Eliza; Catharin Isabella died young;
Kenneth married Catharine McNeill first, by whom he had two sons,
William E and John; Kenneth Murchison's wife died, and he after-
wards married Mrs. Mary McLeod; their children were McKay, Kate,
White, Hill and Kenneth; Flora E.Murchison married James P.Hodges;
their children were John, Ida, James Allison (M.D.) and Ellen.

XL.

John McLean, (Son of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister, see
Paragraph X), married Luenza Leach; their children were Susanna
Harrison and Mary Elizabeth.

General A.D. McLean, (Son of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister,
see Paragraph X), married Catharine McLean; their children were Annie
Jane, John Tyler, Louisa Fannie, Flora, Margaret M, Cattie, Daniel
Hugh, and Archibald Alexander; Annie Jane married Daniel McIntyre;
John Tyler married Edith Byrd; Louis Fannie married John W.Howard;
Flora M died young; Mary Cattie married I.McLean Sexton; Archibald
Alexander died single; Daniel Hugh is an attorney-at-law.

XLII.

Ann McLean, (daughter of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister,
see paragraph X), married Archibald Graham; their children were
Mary, Daniel McLean, Flora, Archibald, Alexander, John and Neill;
Dr.Daniel McL. married Lizzie Murphy; Flora married James A.McNeill;
Archibald married Eliza Barry; Alexander married Kate Sloan; John
married ----- Daniel. Neill died a lad, born l850, died l870;
Mary born l83l died in l848; Isabella born l839, died l84l.

Archibald McLean, (son of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister,
see Paragraph X), married Ellen Weisiger; their children were
Ellen Fillmore, Kate, Mary, Janet, Alexander, John, and Daniel.

XLIV.

Hector McLean, (son of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister,
see Paragraph X) married Catharine McDougald; they had no children.

XLV.

Mary Margaret McLean, (daughter of Daniel McLean and Flora
McAllister, see Paragraph X), married Nat E.Jones. Their children

Flora C. McLean, (daughter of Daniel McLean and Flora McAllister,
