Take Hope Mills road through the town of Hope Mills crossing over 301 and I-95 towards Cypress Lakes. Take a left onto Sand Hill Rd. right after the AAA trucking Company. Follow this road around until you come to the Bapist Union Missionary Church on the left. The cemetery will be on the right past the church. It is a fairly large fenced in area with few stones. A flat granite stone lays in the middle that reads: The unknown markers placed on this gravesite represent unmarked graves of the Davis and McLean familes. Their graves are unknown but they are not forgotten. Mary Lee

"This cemetery was moved from its original location to make room for a Wal-Mart Distribution Center. The first unsuccessful effort to relocate the graves was in 1986. According to the article in the Fayetteville Observer on April 8, 1986, there were 28 gravestones on the 11-tenths of an acre site. Another article in the July 19, 1994 Fayetteville Observer states the cemetery has 28 markers with death dates back to 1870 and the most recent burial was around 1954. The newspaper data should be taken with a grain of salt, starting with the statement that there were 28 gravestones and ending with the last burial around 1954. The newspaper goes on to list 30 names with the last burial date of 1975. I visited the cemetery with my parents several times from 1965 to 1976. In fairness, I do believe some of the marker were just funeral home paper notices, not stones and that the last burial date was from the second article. In my research, I just listed those I felt were in my family. I am sorry now that I did not list them all. It is interesting in my notes that I put a question mark after some of the names. This usually meant the last name was not on the marker, but kinship was based on position of the grave. A major loss is the missing data for Luvina Honeycutt, Angus's wife, which hampers linking the families." Loche A McLean April 13, 2004
