EASTOVER TOWNSHIP - CUMBERLAND COUNTY, established in 1869 with other North Carolina townships, is bounded on the east by Sampson County with South River (once called Black River) as the boundary, on the south by Cedar Creek Township with Maxwell (S.R. 1006) and Sapona Roads as the line, on the west and northwest by the Cape Fear River, and on the northeast by Black River Township with a line running northwest-southeast just northeast of Wade.

JAMES S. BEARD CEMETERY Located about 1 1/4 miles southsouthwest of Beard. From S.R. 1725 (Guy Road), northwest 0.06 miles on S.R. 1797 to a brick house at the northeast side of road, across the road southeast about 30 yards on a path into woods, stones are on left about 5 yards apart. Stones have been moved. Abandoned, last burial 1914.

BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY Located about 3 3/4 miles north of Stedman. From S.R. 1006 (Maxwell Road), northwest 0.15 miles on S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road), southwest about 25 yards south of church.

HENRY H. BOLTON FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 3 1/4 miles southwest of Eastover. From S.R. 1714 (River Road), northeast 0.88 miles on S.R. 1728 (Middle Road), southeast 40 yards. Fenced.

IDA E. BREECE FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 2 1/2 miles south of Eastover. From S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), northeast and north 0.66 miles on S.R. 1864, north 0.21 miles on S.R. 1887 (service road), east perpendicular to road about 150 yards through underbrush to tall pine trees. Fenced. Burials from 1876 to 1895.

THOMAS D. BULLA FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1/2 mile north of Vander. From old N.C. Route 24 (Clinton Road), northnortheast 0.40 miles on S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), southwest 25 yards. Last burial 1976.

BUTLER - McCASKILL FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 1/2 miles north of Vander. From S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), north- east and north 0.10 miles on S.R. 1864, east on a dirt road to the right about 100 yards to the trailer, east about 50 yards into woods on hill overlooking pond. Last burial 1982.

JOSEPH CADE FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 2 miles southsouthwest of Eastover. From old U.S. Route 301 (Dunn Road), south 0.60 miles on S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), east 60 yards in woods. Last burial 1922.

ALEXANDER CARTER FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 3 miles northeast of Vander. From S.R. 1831 (Baywood Road), west 0.12 miles on S.R. 1833, northwest about 140 yards on a dirt road into woods. Last burial 1989.

ALEXANDER CRUMPLER FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 2 1/4 miles north of Vander. From S.R. 1864, north 0.34 miles on S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), at east side of road. Last burial 1979.

CULBRETH FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 3/4 miles west of Beard. From S.R. 1725 (Guy Road), west 0.31 miles on S.R. 1722 (Beard Road), southwest 60 yards through woods to a field. The cemetery is southwest 40 yards in the dense clump of brush in the field. Very overgrown with lots of briars.

HAYWOOD GAINEY FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 4 1/2 miles north of Stedman. From S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road), northeast 1.06 miles on S.R. 1006 (Maxwell Road), northwest 100 yards behind Mrs. Henry T. Autry house. Last burial 1976.

HUGH McDUFFIE GEDDIE FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 mile west of Eastover. From S.R. 1728 (Middle Road), northwest 0.27 miles on S.R. 1721 (Geddie Road) to the curve, west about 200 yards on a dirt road, at north side of road. Last burial 1906.

JOHN GEDDIE FAMILY CEMETERY Located aboaut 3 1/2 miles north of Stedman. From S.R. 1006 (Maxwell Road), northwest 0.24 miles on S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road) to the Warren Autry house on west side of road, northeast 100 yards in woods behind house. Last burial 1963.

WILLIAM A. GUY FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 3/4 miles southwest of Beard. From S.R. 1722 (Beard Road), south 0.63 miles on S.R. 1725 (Guy Road) crossing the railroad, southwest 20 yards from road. Maintained, last burial 1971.

GUY-ROYALLS FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 3/4 miles west of Beard. From S.R. 1714 (River Road), east 0.60 miles on S.R. 1722 (Beard Road), south 0.24 miles on a dirt road passing to the west of the fence at the house on S.R. 1722, in the brush 5-10 yards west of road. One stone is at edge of field. Overgrown, last burial 1985.

EVERETT HALL - REDIN HOUSE CEMETERY Located about 4 miles southeast of Wade. From S.R. 1821, south 300 yards on S.R. 1825, west, northwest, and north 200 yards on a dirt road along the edge of the field. Last burial 1985.

ARCHIBALD HOLMES FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 1/2 miles southwest of Eastover. From old U.S. Route 301 (Dunn Road), south 0.21 miles on S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), at east side of road. Fenced, last burial 1981. Several stones were moved here from Armstrong Cemetery.

WILLIAM J. HONRINE FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 1/2 miles north of Vander. From S.R. 1831, northwest 0.83 miles on S.R. 1836, at north side of road. Maintained, last burial 1969.

JOHN R. JACKSON FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 5 1/4 miles north of Stedman. From S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road), east 0.35 miles on S.R. 1825 to house at south side of road, north across road 180 yards along tree row, west 40 yards across field and 10 yards into woods. Overgrown, last burial 1925.

LEBANON BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY Located about 1 mile southeast of Beard. From U.S. Route 301, northwest 0.50 miles on S.R. 1722 (Beard Road), northeast 50 yards behind church.

LUTHER MILTON LEE CEMETERY Located about 4 miles southsoutheast of Wade. From S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road), northwest 0.38 miles on S.R. 1818 (Neill Williams Road), at southwest side of road. Last burial 1976.

DUNCAN McLAURIN FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 1/4 miles eastsoutheast of Beard, about 1/4 mile east of Lebanon Baptist Church. From U.S. Route 301, northwest 0.27 miles on S.R. 1722 (Beard Road), northnortheast 0.20 miles on a dirt road, 80 yards west at the edge of the woods. Last burial 1978.

JOHN A. McLAURIN FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 mile eastsoutheast of Beard, about 0.2 mile southwest of Lebanon Baptist Church. From U.S. Route 301, northwest 0.27 miles on S.R. 1722 (Beard Road), southwest 0.11 miles on a dirt road (Ball Park Road) to the ball park, northwest 0.27 miles on a dirt road along the northeast side of the ball park. Fenced, last burial 1989.

ARCHIBALD McLERAN FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 mile north of Vander. From S.R. 1835 (Rockhill Road), east 250 yards on S.R. 1836, north 250 yards on a farm road, at the west side of the road. Fenced, last burial 1984.

McMILLAN FAMILY CEMETERY (Site) Located about 3 1/4 miles southsoutheast of Wade. From the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and S.R. 1821, southsoutheast about 150 yards to the clump of brush in the field. No stones. Abandoned.

McMILLAN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CEMETERY Located about 3 1/4 miles southeast of Wade. From its intersection with S.R. 1815 and S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road), 0.20 miles northeast on U.S. Route 13, southeast of road about 80 yards behind church.

JOHN McPHAIL FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 2 miles northnortheast of Eastover. From the intersection of U.S. Route 301 and S.R. 1863 (old U.S. Route 13) just south of Central-Eastover Elementary School, northwest 400 yards on a dirt road into woods. Maintained, but several graves in the surrounding woods are now unmarked. Last burial 1970.

JOHN MURPHY CEMETERY Located about 2 miles southwest of Wade. From U.S. Route 301, northwest 0.45 miles on S.R. 1719 (Rich Walker Road), south 30 yards in edge of the woods. Abandoned, last burial 1873.

WILLIAM MURPHY FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 3/4 miles southsoutheast of Eastover. From S.R. 1831 (Baywood Road), west 0.37 miles on S.R. 1832 (Murphy Road), south 0.24 miles on a dirt road past house, east about 50 yards on high ground in woods. Fourteen marked graves, last burial 1942.

ROYAL FAMILY CEMETERY (Also WILLIAMS FAMILY CEMETERY) Located about 4 miles southsoutheast of Wade. From S.R. 1818 (Neill Williams Road), 0.33 miles northeast on S.R. 1826 (Wade-Stedman Road), about 250 yards southeast on dirt road. Last burial 1984.

SALEM UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY Located about 3/8 mile southwest of the center of Eastover. From U.S. Route 301, west and southwest 0.35 miles on S.R. 1728 (Middle Road), at northwest side of road.

JOHN N. TALBOT FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 4 miles southwest of Eastover. From the intersection of S.R. 1714 (River Road) and S.R. 1728 (Middle Road, southsoutheast 0.07 miles on a paved private road, west 25 yards from the road. Last burial 1982.

JOHN TALLY FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 2 1/2 miles southwest of Beard. From S.R. 1714 (River Road), east 0.66 miles on S.R. 1724, south 0.15 miles on a dirt road to the end of the woods on west side of road, west about 150 yards along south edge of woods to the end of a hedgerow, northwest about 20 yards across a second field, continue west about 30 yards along the south edge of the field. Cemetery is in clump of brush and trees at south side of field. Overgrown. Possibly other stones under underbrush, several stones are known to have been removed.

THOMAS WILLIAMS FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 1 mile east of Eastover. From U.S. Route 301, east 0.90 miles on S.R. 1828 (Baywood Road, once called Turkey Perch Road and later Feed Mill Road), at south side of road in brush. Abandoned.

WILLIAM RUFUS WILLIAMS FAMILY CEMETERY Located about 4 miles southeast of Wade. From S.R. 1825, east 0.03 miles on S.R. 1821, at south side of road. Maintained.
