The last Will and Testament of Lovey LINTON [sic] deceased was exhibited in open court at Feby Term 1840 and duly proven by the oath of James BELL one of the subscribing evidences thereto in due form of Law and ordered Recorded.
I Lovey LINTON [sic] of the County of Currituck in the State of North Carolina, being of sound and perfect mind and memory do this the 8th of November 1839 make and publish this my Last will and Testament in manner following that is to say.
First I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susan LEE one bed and stead and one sheet. I say the bead that I usually ly on my self to her and her heirs for ever.
Second I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sally LEE all the hogs and poltry and my chest with all and every species of property belonging to my estate or to me in any way or manner whatsoever that has not been before mentioned and given away. in witness whereof I the said Lovey LEE have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed published and declared by the said Lovey LEE as her Last Will and Testament.

B.T. SIMMONS, CCC[NOTE: In the first two paragraphs it appears that Lovey's name has been overwritten with "Linton" but further into the will the surname is "Lee" and she makes her mark as such. Lovey was married to Thomas Lee [see his will which mentions Lovey and their daughters, Susan & Sally Lee]
