 Married—In Columbia, SC, October 21, Mr. J. A. Platt to Miss Mary McCraney, daughter of A. McCraney. Miss McCraney was a niece of the late Capt. John Cole of this county.

 We are sorry to hear of the illness of Miss Mattie Brooks, of Brooksville and we hope for her speedy recovery.

 Mr. R. M. Smith is still quite ill at his home, a few miles from here, of fever.

Mr. D. B. Stone and Mrs. C. V. Brooks visited friends and relatives in Jonesboro Saturday and Sunday last.
