New Design

Today I’ve chosen a new look for the Martin County NCGenWeb site.  I hope that the new design allows you to find information more easily.  I’ve moved the main navigation over to drop down menu in the sidebar.

Since on taking on responsibility for several other NCGenWeb counties: Jones, Onslow & Washington, I’ve learned that I definitely have layout preferences.  I hope that you like these changes too.

Remember, keep track of changes/additions to the site by subscribing to the blog using your preferred feed reader! If you need help on how to do this, please just contact me.

Navigational Change to Site

I’ve made a slight change to the navigation of the site. I’ve moved the link to the NCGenWeb Archives from the top and instead created a button link on the sidebar. Remember, the Archives are where you can find additional user-submitted information related to the county!

I moved it from the top so that I could make room for a page I’m putting together for church information.  Stay tuned…

Fresh Start

It’s time for a new “Welcome” post for the blog.  This week I redesigned the site and am now using WordPress as the content management system.  Using WordPress allows me to spend less time worried about HTML and more time focused on pulling together resources to help those researching in Martin County.

The new site has a couple of neat applications and I hope to add more.

  • Use the tag cloud in the sidebar to quickly note if your surnames of interest appear in any of the blog posts. This is still not going to cover all the resources attached to the site, but it’s a start.
  • On the Cemeteries page there is a search box to search across all the Martin county burials listed at FindAGrave.com.  If you know of other burials, please add them there too!

Hope you enjoy the redesign and be sure to subscribe to the blog to stay up-to-date as I make new posts.
