JULIA ALLEN to JAMES E. ALLEN- 1840
Deed Book 10, Page 2
This Indenture made and entered into this 5th day of May A.D. One
Thousand Eight Hundred and forty between JULIA ALLEN of the one part
and JAMES E. ALLEN of the other part both of the County of Granville
and State of North Carolina Witnesseth that for and in consideration
of the sum of Four hundred dollars to said JULIA ALLEN in hand paid
by the said JAMES E. ALLEN the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged & do forever quit claim against the said JAMES E. ALLEN
his heirs and assigns forever and hath sold released and conveyed
and by these presents doth sell release convey & confirm unto the
said JAMES E. ALLEN his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or
parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid lying on the
West side of Fishing Creek and bounded by said Creek to the east by
WM. D. ALLEN and CAWTHORN's tracts on the north by said TAYLORS mill
path to the south and his line then to the Creek containing by late
survey two hundred and fourteen acres 136 poles be the same more or
less together with all houses woods profits and advantages thereunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said JAMES E. ALLEN
his heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold the said land and
premises without molestation from any person or persons claiming
through for or by this said JULIA ALLEN or any of her and the said
JULIA ALLEN further binds herself her heirs & assigns forever to
warrant and defend the title of the above mentioned premises to the
said JAMES E. ALLEN and his heirs and assigns forever. As witness
whereof the said JULIA ALLEN doth hereunto set her hands & affix her
seal this day and date above written.

GEORGE ANDERSON to WILLIAM EVANS-1843

This Indenture made this the second day of June in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty three, between GEORGE
ANDERSON of the County of Granville State of North Carolina of the
one part and WILLIAM EVANS of the County of Granville and State of
North Carolina of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said GEORGE
ANDERSON for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred dollars
to him in hand paid; by the said WILLIAM EVANS, the receipt whereof
the said GEORGE ANDERSON doth hereby acknowledged hath given,
granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth give grant,
bargain & sell unto the said WILLIAM EVANS his heirs and assigns
forever, all that tract of land situate lying and being in the
County of Granville, near to Nuby's folly, bounded as follows by
lands of HAMILTON HESTER on the West, by the land of ROBERT KYLE on
the North, by th lands of JOHN HUNT on the East, by the lands of
JINCY PARRISH also on the East, and ROBERT KYLE again on the South,
containing by estimation seventy five acres, be the same more or
less, and also all woods, wayes, waters and water courses, and all
and every of the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise
appertaining with the reversion & reversions, remainder and
remainders, rent issues & profits of the aforesaid land & premises,
and every part thereof, and all the right title claim & demand
whatsoever of the said GEORGE ANDERSON have of in and to the land &
premises hereby grated to have and to hold the aforesaid land and
premises with the appurtenances unto the said WILLIAM EVANS his
heirs and assigns forever, and the said GEORGE ANDERSON for himself
his heirs the aforesaid land & premises, and every part thereof,
whatsoever to the said WILLIAM EVANS his heirs and assigns, shall
and will warrant and forever defend, by these presents. In witness
whereof the said GEORGE ANDERSON have hereunto set his hand and
affixed his seal, the day & year first above written.

HENRY ANDERSON to WILLIAM S. McCLANAHAM- 1841
Deed Book 11, Pages 65-67
This Indenture made and entered into this 6 day of November in the
year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one between
HENRY ANDERSON of the County of Granville and State of North
Carolina of the first part and WILLIAM S. McCLANAHAM of the County
and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that whereas the
aforesaid HENRY ANDERSON is justly indebted to JOHN MALLORY of the
same County and State in the sum of twenty two dollars due by note
or bond bearing date the 6 day of November 1841 and said HENRY
ANDERSON being desireous or anxious to secure the certain payment of
the same and for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar
to him in hand paid by the said WILLIAM S. McCLANAHAM at or before
the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt where of is
here acknowledged hath given bargained granted and sole and by these
presents do give bargain grant and sell unto the said WILLIAM S.
McCLANAHAM and his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land situate
lying and being in the county aforesaid on the head waters of
Hatchers run beginning at a gum DARLING BASS corner in BOOTH's line
thence by BOOTHs line North 117½ poles to a post oak stake in BOOTHs
line thence west 68¼ poles along NATHAN BENNETTs line to a possimon
stake near the spring thence South 117½ poles along said SNEED's
line to a small hickory in SNEED's line DARLING BASS line thence
along his said line East 68¼ poles to the beginning containing fifty
acres be the same more or less and being part of the NEWBLEY folley
track to have and to hold the before described tract to him the said
WILLIAM S. McCLANAHAM his heirs and assigns forever and a good and
indisputable title made tot he said land to said WILLIAM S.
McCLANAHAM his heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons
the said HENRY ANDERSON doth for himself his heirs executors and
administrators warrant and by these will even defend. Also six grown
cows and four yearlings, two feather beds, and furniture, two
curtain bedsteads, one gray mare four years old, one clock, to have
and to hold the same to the said WILLIAM S. McCLANAHAM his heirs and
assigns forever- in trust, nevertheless and the following conditions
to with that if said HENRY ANDERSON shall fail to pay to said JOHN
MALLORY or his legal representative the amount of note or bond with
all interest and cost thire [sic] in accrued upon being thire to
required by the said JOHN MALLORY or his legal representative then
and in that case it shall be the duty of the said WILLIAM S.
McCLANAHAM trustee to expose to publick sale after given ten days
legal notice at the court house door an aford to sell the above
conveyed tract of land and six grown cows and four yearlings two
feather beds and furniture two cirtain beds one gray mare four years
old one clock, to the highest bider for cash and pay over to the
said JOHN MALLORY the amount of said Note or bond both principle and
interest also all cost accruing in the due execution of this
instrument and the remainder or balance if any pay over to said
HENRY ANDERSON but if the said HENRY ANDERSON shall pay and
discharge the aforesaid debt interest and cost when required to do
by the said JOHN MALLORY then this obligation to be nul and void
otherwise to remain in full fource and virtue in witness whereof the
parties have hereunto set thire hand and affixed thire seals the day
and date first writen.

This indenture made this 14 day of March 1818 between ISAAC ANDERSON
of the County of Granville and State of No. Carolina of the one part
and WILLIAM EVANS of the sd County & State of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said ISAAC ANDERSON for and in consideration of
the sum of One Hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said
WILLIAM EVANS the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have
grated bargained sold confirmed and conveyed unto the said WILLIAM
EVANS his heirs and assigns a certain part of the tract of land
whereon the said ISAAC ANDERSON now lives. Situate in said County on
the waters of Cat Tail. Beginning at post oak in Reeds line thence W
124 poles to pine JOHNSONs corner thence North 65 poles to Hickory
in JOHNSONs line thence East 124 poles to pine in said ANDERSONs
line thence to the beginning: Containing 50 acres more or less. To
have & to hold the aforesaid bargained lands & premises with all the
appurtenances and every thing in any wise belonging or appertaining
thereunto,, unto the said WILLIAM EVANS his heirs &c forever and the
said ISAAC ANDERSON doth hereunto for himself his heirs &c warrant
and forever defend the title of the afore land and premises unto the
said WILLIAM EVANS his heirs &c forever free & clear from himself
his heirs &c and all persons having any lawful claim thereto in
Testimony whereof the said ISAAC ANDERSON hath hereunto set his hand
& affixed his seal the day & date first above written.

This Indenture made this the tenth day of January in the year of our
Lord one thousand, eight hundred and twenty eight, between JACOB
ANDERSON of the County of Granville and State of North Carolina of
the one part and WILLIAM EVANS of the County of Granville and State
of North Carolina of the other part witnesseth that the said JACOB
ANDERSON for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen dollars &
fifty cents to him in hand paid by the said WM EVANS the receipt
whereof the said JACOB ANDERSON doth hereby acknowledge, hath given
granted, bargained, sold aliened & confirmed by these presents doth
give, grant, bargain, sell alien & confirm unto the said WILLIAM
EVANS and his heirs and assigns forever all that tract of land
situate, lying & being in the County of Granville & State aforesaid
on Cattail beginning on the South branch of Cattail at corner
hickory and running on SAMUEL JOHNSON's line South 22 pole to a red
oak, thence East bounded by JACOB ANDERSON's land running 67 pole to
post oak, thence running 2½ pole to a pine in LITTLEJOHN's line,
thence running LITTLEJOHN's and part on WILLIAM EVANS line to the
beginning 67 pole being part of the said JACOB ANDERSON's tract of
land conveyed to WILLIAM EVANS containing by estimation five acres &
a half, the same more or less, and also all woods, ways, water and
water courses and all and every of the appurtenances thereunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversion and
reversions remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits of
the aforesaid lands and premises and every part thereof and all the
estate, right title, interest claim property and demands whatsoever
of the said JACOB ANDERSON have of in and to the lands and premises
hereby granted, to have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises
with the appurtenances unto the said WILLIAM EVANS his heirs and
assigns forever, and the said JACOB ANDERSON for himself his heirs
the aforesaid land and premises and every part thereof against the
heirs of JACOB ANDERSON against the claim or claims of and every
other person or persons whatsoever to the said WILLIAM EVANS his
heirs and assigns forever shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents in witness whereof the said JACOB ANDERSON have
hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first

This Indenture made the seventeenth day of February in the year of
our Lord One thousand eight hundred & thirty between JACOB ANDERSON
of the County of Granville State of North Carolina of the one part
and WILLIAM EVANS of the County & State aforesaid of the other part
witnesseth that the said JACOB ANDERSON for and in consideration of
the sum of thirty two dollars to him in hand paid by the said
WILLIAM EVANS the receipt whereof the said JACOB ANDERSON doth
acknowledge hath given granted bargained & sold and by these
presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said WILLIAM
EVANS his heirs and assigns forever all that tract of land situate
lying & being in the County of Granville near Cattail Creek
beginning at a black oak at EVANS corner & running on the line of
the land called SAMUEL JOHNSON's land to a red oak stump on
Providence road thence running on the road near a East course to a
Spanish oak to LEMUEL TYLER's line thence running on TYLER's line
near a North course to a corner pine on LITTLEJOHN's line thence
near a West course to the beginning on EVANS' line containing by
estimation thirty two acres be the same more or less and also all
woods ways waters & water courses and all every of the appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion or
reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits of the
aforesaid lands and premises and every part thereof and all the
estate right title interest claim property and demand whatsoever of
the said JACOB ANDERSON have in & to the lands & premises hereby
granted to have and hold the aforesaid lands & premises with the
appurtenances unto the said WILLIAM EVANS his heirs and assigns
forever and the said JACOB ANDERSON for himself against his claims
of all and every other persons whatsoever to the said WILLIAM EVANS
his heirs & assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by
these presents. In witness whereof the said JACOB ANDERSON have

JACOB ANDERSON to WINNEFRED TYLER-1830
Deed Book 4, Pages 390-391
This Indenture made and entered into this 13th day of August Anno
Domini 1830 between JACOB ANDERSON of the first part and WINNEFRED
TYLER of the second part both of the County of Granville and State
of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said JACOB ANDERSON for and
in consideration of the natural love and affection which he beareth
and has for his well-beloved daughter WINNEFRED wife of LEMUEL TYLER
and for the advancement and benefit of his said daughter, and the
further consideration of forty five dollars to him in hand paid by
the said WINNEFRED the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the
said JACOB ANDERSON has given granted bargained and sold and by
these presents doth give grant bargain and sell to the said
WINNEFRED TYLER and her heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of
land lying and being in the County aforesaid and bounded as follows,
viz, Beginning at a corner post oak on LEMUEL TYLER's and
LITTLEJOHN's line running thence on LITTLEJOHN's line an east course
to a black oak on the Providence Road JOHN MINOR's corner then JOHN
MINOR's line nearly a South course to RANDAL MINOR's corner thence
on RANDAL MINOR's line nearly West to a white oak MINOR's and
TYLER's corner thence running on TYLER's line to the beginning
containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less to have and
to hold the above conveyed land and premises with all and singular
the ways, woods, watercourses, houses, tenements, and hereditaments
with the appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise
appertaining to her the said WINNEFRED TYLER and her heirs forever.
And the said JACOB ANDERSON doth covenant to and with the said
WINNEFRED TYLER the above conveyed land premises with all and
singular the premises aforesaid free from the claim of all and every
person whatsoever to her the said WINNEFRED TYLER and her heirs
forever to warrant and defend by these presents. In testimony
whereof the said JACOB ANDERSON has hereunto set his hand and
affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
