This Indenture made this 9th day of February in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight Hundred & twenty Six between BENJAMIN HESTER
(Capt) of Granville County & State of N. Carolina of the one part
and ANDERSON PASCHALL of the County and State aforesaid of the other
part Witnesseth that the said BENJAMIN HESTER for and in
consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Seventeen Dollars &
fifty cents to him in hand paid by the said ANDERSON PASCHALL the
rec't whereof he the said BENJAMIN HESTER doth hereby acknowledge
hath given, granted, bargained, sold and delivered by these presents
doth absolutely give, grand, bargain, sell and deliver unto the said
ANDERSON PASCHALL his heirs & assigns forever a tract or parcel of
land lying in the aforesaid County of Granville on both side of
Poplar Creek containing two Hundred & Sixty & a fourth acres more or
less and bounded as follows (to wit) Begining at a dead red oak in
ABNER HICKS line thence runing No.79½ E.218 po. by a mark'd ash on
the branch thence So. 11 E. 4 po. thence with the hollow So. 61 E.
34 po. thence due East 16 po. thence No. 76 E.26 po. thence So. 80
E.26 po. thence So. 85 E.14 po. thence So.53 E.14 po. thence No.81
E.24 po. thence So.57 E.16 po. to a pine thence So.145 po to a red
oak on the South side of the public road thence with said road to a
white oak in the above said ABNER HICKS line thence No. along said
HICKS line to the first station. To have and to hold the aforesaid
bargained land and premises with all the appurtenances thereunto
belonging and I the said BENJN. HESTER do for myself my Heirs,
Excr's, admr's, & assigns warrant and forever defend the right and
title of the aforesaid land and premises to be free and clear of and
from all incumbrances whatsoever unto the said ANDERSON PASCHALL his
heirs & assigns forever. In testimony whereof I the said BENJ'N
HESTER have set my hand & affixed my seal the day and date above
written signed sealed acknowledged & delivered in presence of. - The
