ABSTRACTS OF BUTE COUNTY, N.C. DEED BOOK l, 1765-1767 |

Deed Book 1 is the second in the series of Warren County Deed Books, the first being Deed Book A, previously abstracted by Mary Hinton Kerr. Deed Book 1 is one of a number ordered by the County commissioners to be rebound in 1897. Part of the leaves were badly mutilated from handling, and were ordered to be recopied. Some words were missing, but there appears to be nothing of significance missing. [Note: These records are from scanned images from my old records from Mary Hinton Kerr, the noted Warren Co., NC genealogist who did so much for all those seeking their roots in Warren Co., NC. My efforts are a reflection of my feeble attempt to honor Mary Hinton Kerr. Since her books are no longer in print, we are using this media, with the permission of Sen. Kerr, to make her work live on and provide the information for all. If you use the SEARCH program, you can quickly access all occurrences of the name you are researching. Otherwise, just browse. You never know what you might find. Because of the variant spellings used in these transcriptions, it is easy to miss important information by simply using the search option. We are also aware of typographical errors that will be corrected once we have had an opportunity to re-edit our own work.
