Know all Men by these presents that I HENRY WESTBROOK of the County of Bute in the Province of North Carolina for & in consideration of the sum of
Eighty four pounds five shillings & eight Pence Currnt money of Virginia to me in hand paid by WILLIAM PERSON of Shampson County* [sic] in
Virginia the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold & by these presents do Grant Bargain & sell unto the said WILLIAM PERSON
the following Negroe Slaves (namely) SAM, AMAN. KATE, a woman, BEN, a boy, NAN, a girl, NED, a boy, MOLLY a
girl & SALLY a girl, the Negroe man SAM I do hereby deliver in token of the whole To Have & to Hold the sd Negroes afsd. them and
their increase forever to him the said WILLIAM PERSON his heirs & Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said WILLIAM PERSON his heirs &
Assigns forever And I the said HENRY WESTBROOK for my self & my heirs Exrs & Admrs doth Covenant & agree to and with the said WILLIAM PERSON that
he the said HENRY WESTBROOK will Warrant & forever defend the property of the afsd. Negroes with their increase forever to the said WILLIAM PERSON
his heirs & Assigns In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 4th day of March 1767.
