Mortgage, dated 25 December 1773, on 100 acres of land on Lizard creek bought from JOHN LINCH, JR., adjoining JAMES LINCH, THOMAS EATON, MARK MOORE, & JOHN LINCH, JR., and negroes, wagon, livestock, & furniture, to be sold if debt, with interest, is not satisfied within two years. MINUTES OF BUTE COUNTY COURT OF PLEAS AND QUARTER SESSIONS, 1774-1778. August Court 1774.
The Last Will and Testament of FRANCIS MABRY, dec'd., was proved by the oaths of GREEN HILL, Esq., and WILLIAM SOLOMON, two of the witnesses, from which proof FRANCIS MABRY, JR., ANGELICA MABRY, AMEY RICHARDS, JESSE MABRY, ELIZABETH MABRY, and DAVID MABRY enter a Caveat . . , etc.
Will of FRANCIS MABRY will be found in Warren County, N.C., Will Book 4, page 101. It was recorded at Warren County April Court 1785: "This will having been proved in Bute Court formerly and never yet been admitted to record; it is ordered by the present Court to be recorded. Test: M. DUKE JOHNSON, C.C."
