Pankey Stephen 1753 (not 1760 as stated by MPH) 1/27/1863 Age 103 years.(see obit:) A soldier of the Revolutionary War
Died in Richmond County 27 June 1863, Stephen Pankey, Sr., aged 100 years. For many years he was a devoted Christian,
faithful in the discharge of all his duties, a good master, affectionate husband, and a kind neighbor. He was born in
Virginia under the British government, passed through the revolution of 1776 in his boyhood; enjoyed the many blessings
of peace and prosperity of which followed and flowed from the bloody struggles of the revolution, and lived, to see the
close of that government, and died admist the exciting scenes of the present revolution, leaving about one hundred of his
lineal descendants in active service in the present war. S.M. Ingram
