C. A. Young of Wilson was married to Miss Ella Powell of Halifax 10 September 1879

Mrs. Ashley Young was formerly Miss Ella Powell, daughter of Dr. Jesse Powell. Her sisters were Sally Martha Powell, Julia Frances Powell, Jessie Powell. These were the daughters of Dr. Jesse Powell and his wife, Emile Gatling Powell who originally cane from Hertford County. Dr. Jesse Powell was born and reared in the two-story home west of Dawson. After his marriage to E. G. P. Dr. Jesse Powell moved to a home that had been built for him by his father, Mr. Jesse Powell, for whom Dr. Jesse was named. This home is a two-story house about a mile from the one in which Dr. Jesse Powell was reared. This was called Sunny Side. Mr. Jesse Powell was a licensed minister of the Gospel (Baptist)
