ARNOLD, HUGH

Hugh Arnold served during the Civil War. He enlisted as a private and  is listed as a POW on august 29, 1861 at Fort Hatteras, NC. Transferred  Company Ind, Capt. W.A. Duke’s Regiment North Carolina on September 15,1861 and returned on February 20,1862.  He was discharged from Company I, 32nd Infantry  on April 2, 1862.  His unit was also referred to as the ‘Jonesboro Guards’. He may have served with another unit after that time, but no further information was found.  A brick has been placed in his honor at the Confederate  Soldiers memorial in Camden, North Carolina.
