3950. Charlie Forest LAIL was born on 5 May 1912 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 27 October 2005 at the age of 93 in Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Charlie Forrest Lail, 93, of Winebarger Street, Conover, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at his residence. Born May 5, 1912, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late James Franklin and Bertha Etta Shook Lail. He had retired from the former Winebarger Construction Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Worley Lail; grandchildren, Linda Hedrick, Gary Dean Winebarger, Anita Hedrick Little and Laura Storey; sisters, Juanita Bolick, Uma Caldwell, Carrie Holland and infant sister, Suma Lail; and a brother, Robert Merle Lail. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Helen and Donald Matthews of Conover, Christine Hedrick of Taylorsville and Peggy and Robert Storey of Hickory; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles "Buddy" and Jean Lail of Conover and Dallard Lail of Taylorsville; three sisters, Pauline Hedrick and Irene Matthews of Conover and Frankie Cook of Lexington; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. The Rev. Bobby Langston will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Drum Funeral Home.
