Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Mary Spencer Justice, 89, of Conover, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Justice was born May 30, 1919, in Catawba County to the late Robert Alexander Spencer and Eva Nancy Gant Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Justice; a daughter, Nancy Justice; a grandson, Greg Sigmon; sisters, Martha Spencer, Rena Spencer, Myrtle Spencer Winters, Zula Spencer Rockett and Thelma Spencer Smith; and brothers, Frank Spencer and Marion Spencer. She is survived by her grandchildren, Christine Sigmon Hradek and husband, Jeff, Cedona Sigmon Robertson and husband, Wayne, Cheryl Sigmon Thinnes and husband, Jay, all of Venice, Fla., and Candace Sigmon Hummel and husband, Brian, of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Kamrynn, Lauren, Alexis, Jaysa, Kody, Hannah, Michael, Sydney, Dallas, Jaret and Griffin; sisters, Frances Spencer Winters and Hilda Spencer Price, both of Conover; a brother, Richard Glenn Spencer of Conover; and son-in-law, Larry F. Sigmon of Conover. A service of remembrance will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, with the Rev. Michael Kane officiating. Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:15 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Christian Day School, 215 Fifth Ave., SE, Conover, N.C. 28613.
