She was buried in Miller's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Catherine A. Propst, 87, of Hickory, died Dec. 1, 2004, at Lutheran Home-Hickory. Born May 26, 1917, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Carl E. and Espie Bowman Propst. She was a member of Miller's Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wade Propst and Guy Propst; and a sister, Helen Huffman. Survivors include a sister, Lorene Hefner of Hickory; two brothers, Glenn Propst and Darold Propst, both of Hickory; seven nieces; six nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. C. Pierson Shaw Jr. and John C. Moebius at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Miller's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
