Currituck County}We, Z.M. DOXEY and Mary DOXEY of Poplar Branch of the county and state aforesaid being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of our earthly existance do make and declare this our last "will" and testament in manner and form following.
That our executor hereinafter named shall provide for our bodys decent burials and pay all funeral expenses togather with our just debts out of the money that shall first come into his hands as a part or parcel of our estate.
Then it is our will that the remainder of our chattle or personal property including moneys or whatsoever kind or wheresoever the same shall be at the time of our deaths, shall be equally divided between our sons, W.A. DOXEY, George A. DOXEY and N.H. DOXEY, share and share alike.
We give and bequeath unto our son, N.H. DOXEY, the tract of land where we now reside togather with all improvement in fee simple forever and we do nominate constitute and appoint our son W.A. DOXEY our sole executor of this our last will and testament hereby making void all other wills or "wills" at any time heretofore made by us and do declare this to be our last "will" and testament.
In witness whereof we the said Z.M. DOXEY and Mary DOXEY, have hereunto set our hands and seals this 16th day of Sept. 1905

Georgia M. HARPER[NOTE: According to cemetery records Zachariah Doxey was born March 12, 1812 and died Jan. 24, 1907. His wife, Mary, was born Sept. 20, 1835 and died Oct. 8, 1905. Willis A. Doxey, whom I assume is the W.A. Doxey mentioned in the above will, was born May 7, 1862 and died Oct. 9, 1938. All are buried in the Willis Doxey Cemetery in the Poplar Branch Township of Currituck County. I imagine that this will was probated shortly after Mary's death. There is a subsequent will for Zacariah M. Doxey dated Jan. 6, 1906 which can be seen here.]
