PERRY

Seeking ancestry/information regarding a Joseph Perry who was in the Hertford
1810 and 1820 census. I believe he had a daughter Rachel Perry who married
William Deans(son of Matthias Deans-3 households away from Joseph Perry
in 1810) ca 1815 but am looking for more proof and perhaps Joseph's wife's
name as well.

According to my information, Penelope NICHOLS was born 27 August 1791 in
Hertford County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Nathaniel NICHOLS,
and he moved his family to Christian Couty, Kentucky. There, Penelope married
James CLOYES, who was born 30 July 1781 in Framingham, Massachusetts. Looking
for any information on this NICHOLS family.

Seeking information about Gilstrap WILLIAMS listed in the 1800 Hertford
Census. Who were his parents? I suspect a GILSTRAP mother. I have much
information to share on the GILSTRAP family.

listed on the Hertford Co. census in 1850. Am interested in any information

COPELAND-I am seeking info on JOANNE COPELAND and family. Joanne was born
1845. The 1870 census has her living in Nansemond Co.,Va. Her Children
were Augustuss b. 1862, Rosetta b.1863,Scrap b.1865,Octavius b.1866,Calvin
b 1869 and James b 1867.Rosetta married Elisha Boon Parker. Her daughter,Addie
Parker married James Harrison and settled in Southampton Co.,Va. The early
census and court records show the Copeland family in Hertford county as
far back as 1820. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated.

COCKRELL, Alexander Grace, born Mar 2, 1836 in Murphresborough, Hertford
Co., NC, married (name unknown) Jan 23, 1868 in West Point, MS, died Apr
16, 1891. Alexander had one known son, COCKRELL, William Wark, who was
born Dec 10, 1878 in Crockett, TX. William married SCHWANER, Laura Amalia,
who was from Beaumont, TX. Any information would be appreciated and I am

NC and any connection with Willis COFIELD (born Mar 10, 1778 in NC, died
Nov 9, 1850 in LaGrange, GA) he married (Mar 5, 1805) Mahulda GREEN (born
Apr 4, 1787 or 1778 in NC, died 1873 in LaGrange, GA). I will share information
that I have.

DILDAY. They are on the 1850 census in Hertford Co. Any help would be appreciated.

Researching Bertie County ancestors Thomas P. HALE (b1859) and his wife
Martha L. CASTELOW (b1862). Her father was Aquilla Castellow (b ?). Also,
seeking info about Gaither Fred HALE (b1893 in Bertie, d1984 in Raleigh).
He was a professor at NC State, and may have written a HALE family history
which I'm trying to locate. Any info about my family, or the history, would
be greatly appreciated. I'd be glad to share information I've gathered
as well. Thank you.
PARKER, HOWARD

Researching BERTIE CO ancestors for James B. PARKER (b1855?) and his wife
Carolina HOWARD (b1858). They owned a farm in Mitchell's Township area
of Bertie. The 1900 census listed children as Cora, Cohen, W, Jonnie O,
Thomas F, and Scarboro, and a nephew, George W. HOWARD. Any information
on PARKER or HOWARD family would be greatly appreciated. I'd be glad to
share information I have as well. Thank you.

I am looking for my father-in-law`s parents. My father-in-law`s name was
George Ely(Eli) Byrd b. 1/1/1880 in Ahoskie, N.C.. I believe his father`s
name was David and I think he died in Ahoskie in the early 1890s. The mother`s
name was Anna Holliman(not sure of the spelling) and she died a year after
or a year before the father. I do not have any more information than that.
Would appreciate any ideas where to look. Thank you.

Benjamin WARREN proved his rights in Bertie Co NC in 1744 for himself,
& wife Esther, James, Benjamin, Margaret, Mary Patience, William and
Esther. In 1745 he surveys 640 acres on Quickasan [sic} Swamp, near the
CHAMBLEE family. Benjamin Warren was not heard of after 1760, and there
is no trail for ANY of the individuals that proved their rights. His daughter
Esther WARREN most likely married Robert CHAMBLEE of early Bertie and later
of Wake Co (Little River Dist), NC.There is another reference to &
Esther Warren of Bertie Co in 1760 & in an old genealogy magazine,
but submitter now deceased and no documentation. Love to talk to Hertford
Co and Bertie Co WARREN researchers.

OLIVER AND CRAWFORD. Looking for information on John Oliver, d. 1797. He
was the son of Alexander Oliver and Elizabeth Crawford, dau. of Wm. Crawford,
d. 1835. John was married, probably not his first wife, to Mary Unknown.
He had several children: John, Jr., Martin, Malechi, Shadrack, Winneford,
and Dicey.

CRAWFORD.Need info on William Crawford, d. 1735 Chowan Co. Last wife named
Mary. He was the father of Elizabeth Oliver, wife of Alexander; Honnor,
wife of Edward Dilday, a dau. who married a Jenkins, and an unknown son.
Would like to know his connection to William Crawford of Old Albemarle
who took part in Culpepper Rebellion.

in Hertford Co, NC. Thomas married Rebecca Ridley. They had a daughter,
Judith Perry Hilliard Wynne, who was born 1813 in SC. The family settled
in Wilson Co, TN.

Searching for any information on this man: JESSIE JOHNSON YEATES Elected
to Congress in the mid 1870's from Hertford Co.,NC He was the newphew of
my gg grandfather. WILLIAM ALEXANDER BOOTHE B: 1812 Nansemond County, Virginia.
I cannot find any thing on William A. Boothe and am checking anything that
connects with him, do not know how Yeates is a nephew. Yeates mother was
a Harrill. Also a WILLIAM BOOTHE operated a tavern in Hertford County about
this time. Would love to find the connection between the Boothe and Yeates
families.

Looking for the parents of my 3rd great grandparents Anthony BRITTON and
Cynthia BOONE. They were both born, probably in the late 1700's in Hertford,
NC, which is annotated on their son's, James Peyton BRITTON, death certificate.
(James Peyton BRITTON married Anne "Annie" Eliza SESSOMS dau.
of Angrid SESSOMS and Harriet TAYLOR from Bertie County). Anthony BRITTON
died young and the children were raised by George W.BRITTON, possibly the
oldest son of Anthony and Cynthia BRITTON.

DARDEN, RIDDICK Interested in sharing information on Elijah DARDEN who
moved to Hertford from IOW, VA. He was suppose to have married a WILLIAMSON,
but the names of his children indicate their mother was a RIDDICK. Need
some proof of a possible marriage, even circumstantial.

LANG, ROGERS Interesting in sharing information on the LANG and ROGERS
family of Chowan, Hertford, Gates, and Edgecombe Counties. Both families
were probably from IOW, Va. John LANG md Elizabeth ROGERS and moved to
Pitt Co c 1795. Elizabeth's parents were Robert and Priscilla ROGERS. Who
were Priscilla's parents? John LANG's parents were James and Jemima LANG
- who were Jemima's parents? In addition, who was Tristim ROGERS of Edgecombe
Co and how did he tie into this ROGERS family? John LANG's 2nd wife was
Elizabeth MAY Rogers widow of Stephen ROGERS who was the son of Tristiam
and Judith. John and Elizabeth Rogers Lang's son married Stephen and Elizabeth
MAY's daughter.
