Directions: From
South Main Street, Warrenton, turn onto E. Macon St. (NC-58), go 0.4
mile to Baltimore Road onto Country Club Road, which continues on as
NC-58; go 4.3 miles on NC-58 to shortly past Liberia; continue onto
NC-43 for 8.6 miles, passing Grove Hill and Arcola along the way;
shortly past Arcola, turn Right onto Bethlehem Road, go 1.6 miles to
the Church. Walnut Grove Baptist Church sits on 4.6 acres of land near Arcola, in a lovely green setting, where the grass almost seems to carpet the land. Built in 1982, the tall-steepled Church is surrounded by neatly situated graves, the dates starting from the 1980’s to the present day. All of the graves are well-kept, and many of them are apparently from the same families of RICHARDSONs. (Surveyed by Tony Copeland in May 2007; transcribed and submitted by Deloris Williams) |
