Brothers George G. Aycock and Edward S. Aycock lived just a few miles above the North Carolina-Virginia State line. When the war between the states came the Aycock brothers crossed into NC and enlisted in Warren County, August 16, 1861. George and Edward Aycock father William Aycock family are from the Warren Co. NC Area. This family is listed in the 1850 census, Brunswick, VA and 1860 Warren Co., NC.

 George Griffin Aycock, Enlistment 16 August 1861 age 22, Confederacy Unit #140 ,Company B, "Nat Macon Guards, " 30th Regiment NC Infantry (State Troops) C.S.A . POW on 15 April 1865 at Hospital, Farmville, VA Discharged Co B, 30th Infantry Regiment, NC on 09 June 1865. George G. Aycock died 17 April 1900 in Wake Co. NC.

 Edward S. Aycock, Enlistment 16 August 1861, age 21 Confederacy Unit #140, Company B, 30th Infantry Regiment, NC. Surrendered Company B, 30th Infantry Regiment, NC on 09 April 1865 in Appomattox Court House, VA. Edward S. Aycock was awarded in 1906 the Crosses of Honor to the Veterans, Camp 819. Ware Co., Georgia from the Francis S. Bartow Chapter Daughter of the Confederacy.  Edward S. Aycock died 05 Dec. 1924 in Ware Co. Georgia.

 George G. Aycock is my great grand father and the father of my grand father Leonard A. Aycock.
