ANNA GIBBS to ALLEN GREEN- 1822 |
This Indenture, made this 6th day of February In the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty two by & between ANNE GIBBS
of the County of Warren & State of North Carolina of the one part &
ALLEN GREEN of the County of Warren & State aforesaid of the other
part witnessed the said ANNE GIBS[sic] for & in consideration
of the sum of Eighty two dollars and fifty cents to me in hand pd
the receipt whereof is acknowledged hath bargained sold & delivered
& by these presents hath bargain sell & delivered to the said ALLEN
GREEN his heirs & assigns forever all the right title & interest in
& to a certain track or parcel of land lying & being in the County
of Warren & containing by estimation twenty five acres be the same
more or less and bounded as follows beginning on Fishing Creek at
the mouth of Fish trap branch & running So. 57 degrees west 26 poles
up the said branch to a poplar, thence up sd branch So. 72 deg. west
6 poles to a white oak, thence So. 27 D. E.[degrees East] 50½
poles to a spanish oak & hicory, thence No. 70 D.E.64 poles to a
blace [sic] gum thence No. 26 poles to a beach on the banks
of the Creek, thence up the Creek to the beginning, To have & to
hold the afores'd land to him the sd ALLEN GREEN his hears[sic]
assigns forever & the sd ANNE GIBS doth covenent & agree with to &
with him the said GREEN his hears & assigns to warrant & forever
defend the title to sd land to sd ALLEN GREEN his hears & asines[sic]
forever free from the claim or claims of any person or persons
whatsoever in witness whereof the said ANNE GIBS hath hear[sic]
unto set her hand & afors'd her seals the day & date first above
written in the presents of ANNE GIBS ("X" her mark) JOHN LANGFORD LEWIS CLARK State of North Carolina, Warren County, April 19th, 1822 The execution of this deed by ANN GIBS was this day proved before me by LEWIS CLARK a subscribing witness thereto, therefore let it be registered. NELSON Z. GRAVES to JULIUS WILCOX-1859 |
This Indenture made this the 11th day of Jan Eighteen hundred and
fifty nine between JULIUS WILCOX of the County of Warren and the
State of North Carolina of the one part, and NELSON Z. GRAVES of the
same County and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said
NELSON Z. GRAVES for and in consideration of the sum of Seven
Thousand dollars to him in hand paid by the said JULIUS WILCOX he
the said NELSON Z. GRAVES hath given, granted, bargained, sold and
confirmed and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell and
confirm unto the said JULIUS WILCOX his heirs and assigns forever,
one lot or parcel of land on which are located the buildings of the
Female Collegiate Institute, lying and being in the County of Warren
aforesaid, containing by actual measurement two acres "more or less"
and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stob on the west side
of the road leading from Warrenton to the race tract, thence running
west one hundred and forty yards along HOLT's or WILLIAM SOLOMON's
line to another stob. Thence South seventy yards to another stob.
Thence East by DR. SKELTON's or JULIUS WILCOX's line to the above
mentioned road and thence North to the beginning. To have and to
hold the aforesaid lot or parcel of land together with all the
appurtenances unto the said JULIUS WILCOX his heirs and assigns
forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said JULIUS
WILCOX, his heirs and assigns, and the said NELSON Z. GRAVES for
himself, his heirs, and executors and administrators all and each,
the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto
the said JULIUS WILCOX his heirs and assigns against him the said
NELSON Z. GRAVES, his heirs & against all persons whatsoever will
warrant and defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said NELSON Z. GRAVES hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day first above written. N. Z. GRAVES Interlined before Signed, Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of WILLIAM A. WHITE State of North Carolina Warren County January the 22nd 1859. The execution of the foregoing deed from NELSON Z. GRAVES to JULIUS WILCOX was duly proved before me this day by the oath and examination of WILLIAM A. WHITE the subscribing witnesses thereto, Therefore let the said deed together with this certificate be Registered. JOHN W. WHITE, Clerk of W.C. JOHN H. GREEN Excr. to WILLIAM G. JONES- 1835 |
Received this 30th day of January 1835 from WILLIAM G. JONES the sum
of Two thousand three hundred and seventy one dollars and three
cents for Negroes KINGSTON, PHILIS, ANARCHY, HILLIARD, MOUNTFORD
& TAMAR of the estate the late SOLOMON GREEN, which, said
WILLIAM G. JONES purchased at Public Sale, made by order of Warren
County Court. And I JOHN GREEN Exr. of SOLOMON GREEN dec'd do hereby
bargain, sell and deliver and convey the aforesaid Negroes
KINGSTON, PHILIS, ANARCHY, HILLIARD, MOUNTFORD & TAMAR and the
future increase of the females to the said WILLIAM G. JONES his
heirs and assign forever. Given under my hand & seal as Executor the

MATTHEW GUY to JULIUS WILCOX- 1857 |
This Indenture made
this 20th day of May A.D. 1857 Between MATTHEW GUY of the one part
and JULIUS WILCOX of the other part, both of the County of Warren
and State of North Carolina, Witnesseth that the said MATTHEW GUY
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty
dollars to him in hand paid by the said JULIUS WILCOX, the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given, granted, bargained and
sold, and by these presents, doth absolutely give grant, bargain and
sell to him, the said JULIUS WILCOX, one certain lot or parcel of
land situate, lying and being in the County of Warren adjoining the
lands of JNO. W. WHITE, BENJ. E. COOK and MISS MARY AYCOCK and
bounded as follows, to wit, beginning at MISS MARY AYCOCK's S.E.
corner, thence Northwardly along her line to her N.E.corner stake on
the South side of the Spring path thence Easterly along the south
side of the said path WHITE's line) seventy yards to a corner stone
Southwardly along WHITE's line Seventy yards to a corner stake in
COOK's line, westwardly along COOKS line to the beginning,
containing one acre of land. To have and to hold the said land and
appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining to him
the said JULIUS WILCOX, his heirs and assigns forever, in fee
simple. And the said MATTHEW GUY for himself his heirs &c doth by
these presents, covenant and agree to and with the said JULIUS
WILCOX his heirs &c, that he will warrant and forever defend the
right and title to the said land and the appurtenances thereunto
belonging, against the claim or demand of all and every person or
persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said MATTHEW GUY have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and date above written. MATTHEW GUY ("X" his mark) Witness N. Z. GRAVES State of North Carolina Warren County, June 10th 1857. The execution of this Deed was duly proved before me this day by the oath of N. Z. GRAVES the subscribing witness thereto.
