ABSALOM RICHARDSON to JOHN BURGESS- 1836 |
Know all men by these presents that I, ABSOLOM RICHARDSON, of the
County of Warren and State of North Carolina have for and in
consideration of the sum of Five hundred & Sixteen dollars do me in
hand paid by JOHN BURGESS of the County and State aforesaid granted
bargained, sold and consent unto the said JOHN BURGESS his heirs,
Executors &c forever; all that tract or parcel of land which I the
RICHARDSON purchased of the late CHARLES MARSHALL together with a
part of the land purchased of KIMBEL and DAVIS in Dower Court upon
the West side of Hawtree Creek adjoining the land of JOHN SEARCY?,
GEORGE HARPER, JOHN BURGESS and others containing by survey Two
hundred and fifty eight acres be the same more or less beginning &
running as follows, Beginning at a maple on the West side of Hawtree
Creek and running west 143 pole to a hickory on the new road thence
with said road to two post oak saplings in HARDY RICHARDSON's line,
thence North 80° East 67(?) pole to an appletree, formerly a stake,
thence North 11 pole to a stake, thence North 80° East 112 pole to a
red oak in the county line, thence North ??? 73 pole to a turkey oak
on the bank of the aforesaid Creek, thence up the meanders of said
Creek to the beginning. The right and title of said land I bind
myself, my heirs, Executors, or Administrators to warrant and defend
unto the said JOHN BURGESS, his heirs, Executors, or Administrators
against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever. In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th

ABSALOM RICHARDSON to HARDY RICHARDSON- 1836 |
This Indenture made this 20th day of May in the year of Our Lord One
thousand Eight Hundred and thirty six between ABSALOM RICHARDSON of
Warren County and State of North Carolina on the one part and HARDY
RICHARDSON of Halifax County and State aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said ABSALOM RICHARDSON hath for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars to him in
hand paid, or secured to be paid, hath this day bargained & sold and
do by these presents bargain and sell unto the said HARDY RICHARDSON
his Heirs, Executors or Administrators a certain tract or parcel of
land lying and being in the County of Warren & State aforesaid and
adjourning the lands of the said HARDY RICHARDSON, GEORGE HARPER and
JOHN BURGESS and being a part of the land which he the said ABSALOM
RICHARDSON purchased of MRS. KIMBEL and SUGAN DAVIS, containing
Sixty acres more or less, beginning & running as follows, Beginning
at a black jack on the County line running South 88° West 52 pole to
white oak stump(?) on HARDY RICHARDSON's field, thence No. 2 East 98
pole and 18 links to an apple tree, formerly a stake on BURGESS'
line, thence along said line North 11 pole to a Stake, thence along
said line North 85° East 112 pole to a Red oak, thence South 27° &
20" West 134 pole along the County line to the beginning. The right
and title of said land I the said ABSALOM RICHARDSON doth hereby
bind myself, my heirs, Executors or Administrators to warrant and
defend unto the said HARDY RICHARDSON, his heirs, Executors or
Administrators against the claim or claims of every person or
persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand

This Indenture made this 15th day of September in the year of our
Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty Six, between ABSOLUM
RICHARDSON of the County of Halifax and State of North Carolina of
the one part & JOHN BURGES of Warren County and State aforesaid of
the other part. Witnesseth that he the said ABSOLUM RICHARDSON hath
for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred and Seventy five
dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold & do by these presents
grant bargain and sell unto the said JOHN BURGES his heirs Executors
or administrators a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being
in the County of Warren and State aforesaid on the west side of the
new road adjoining the lands of the said JOHN BURGES, ASA JAMES and
others and formerly the property and place of residence of the late
CHARLES MARSHALL containing by estimation three hundred & Seventy
acres bounded as follows, Beginning at an elm on MARSHALL's old
spring branch running South 3½ East 224 pole to a post oak thence
East 7½ pole to a post oak thence North 61 pole to a red oak, thence
East 131 pole to a post oak, thence South 85° East 8 pole to a post
oak on the East side of the new road, thence with the said road to a
hickory, BURGES' corner, thence South 18° West 5 pole to a white
oak, thence South 58° West 7 pole to a willow oak in the head of
MARSHALL's spring branch, thence down the various courses of said
branch to the beginning. To have and to hold the said parcel or
tract of land together with all and singularly the appertenances
thereunto belonging to the only proper use and behoof of the said
JOHN BURGES his heirs and assigns forever, and the said ABSOLUM
RICHARDSON doth covenant and agree to warrant and defend the right
and title of said land unto the said JOHN BURGES his heirs &c
against the claim or claims of all persons whomsoever. In witness
whereof ABSOLUM RICHARDSON has hereunto set his hand and affixed [h]is

ABSALOM RICHARDSON to JESSE H. RICHARDSON- 1858 |
This Indenture made this 27th day of May in the year of Our Lord One
thousand eight hundred and fifty eight, between ABSOLUM
RICHERSON[sic] of the County of Warren and State of N. Carolina of
the one part, and JESSE H. RICHERSON of the County and State
aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the same ABSOLUM
RICHERSON hath this day bargained and sold and do by these presents
bargain and sell unto the said JESSE H. RICHERSON his heirs and
assigns for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and
thirty dollars to him in hand paid the rect. whereof is hereby
acknowledged a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in
the County of Warren and State of North Carolina and adjoining the
lands of JOHN BURGES, WILLIAM K. KEARNEY and others and being the
said tract on which the said ABSOLUM RICHERSON now resides supposed
to contain sixty five acres more or less, Beginning and running as
follows: Beginning at a sassafras on the road ASA JAMES' old corner
in HARDY RICHERSON's line and running North one degree west sixty
one pole to a post oak in BURGES' line thence west one hundred 31
pole to a red oak thence South 61 pole to a stake thence west to a
new made corner NANCY RICHERSON's thence South to KEARNEY's line.
Thence along KEARNEY's line east to the road. Thence along said road
in a North East direction to the beginning. To have and to hold the
aforesaid tract of land hereby granted and assigned or mentioned or
intended so to be, unto the said JESSE H. RICHERSON his heirs and
assigns forever. The said ABSOLOM RICHERSON doth hereby warrant and
defend the right and title of said land unto the said JESSE H.
RICHERSON his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the siad
ABSOLOM RICHERSON hath hereunto set his hand and seal the year and
day before written. ABSOLOM RICHERSON ("X" his mark) Witness JESSE MARSHALL Warren County August Court 1858 The execution of the foregoing deed was duly proved in open court by the oath and examination of JESSE MARSHALL the subscribing witness thereto and an motion the ded itself together with this certificate is ordered to be Registered. ABSALOM RICHARDSON to NANCY RICHARDSON- 1858 |
This Indenture made this 27th May in the year of Our Lord One
Thousand eight hundred and fifty eight, between ABSOLOM RICHERSON
[sic] of the County of Warren and State of N. Carolina of the one
part and NANCY RICHERSON of the County and State aforesaid of the
other part, Witnesseth that the said ABSOLOM RICHERSON hath this day
bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain and sell unto
the said NANCY RICHERSON her heirs and assigns for and in
consideration of the sum of thirty dollars to him in hand paid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, a certain tract or parcel of
land lying and being in the County of Warren and State of N.
Carolina and being the Western end of the tract of land on which the
said ABSOLOM RICHARDSON now lives, Supposed to be fifteen acres more
or less Beginning and running as follows beginning at a red oak on
the road in JOHN BURGES' line thence South to WILLIAM K. KEARNEY's
line, thence along KEARNEY's line west to GEORGE ALSTON's line
thence along his line North to BURGES' corner thence East along said
BURGES' line to the beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid
tract or parcel of land hereby granted and assigned or mentioned or
intended to be unto the said NANCY RICHERSON her heirs and assigns
forever. The said ABSOLOM RICHARDSON doth hereby warreant and defend
the right and title of said land unto the said NANCY RICHARDSON her
heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said ABSOLOM
RICHARDSON hath hereunto set his hand and seal the year and day
before written. ABSOLOM RICHARDSON ("X" his mark) Warren County August Court 1858 The execution of the foregoing deed was duly proved in open court by the oath and examination of JESSE MARSHALL the subscribing witness thereto.
