Henry D. HARPER was born on 23 Mar 1815 in Warren Co., NC. He died on 20 Dec 1896 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN. He was the son of Samuel and Prescilla DAVIS SANDIFER HARPER. (See Will of Samuel Harper .)

He was married to Eliza J. UNDERWOOD on 28 Nov 1842 in Trenton, Gibson Co., Tennessee, Bondsman L. B. Gilchrist.

Henry D. HARPER and Eliza J. UNDERWOOD had one daughter:

Elizabeth Priscilla HARPER was born on 21 May 1844 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. She died on 21 Aug 1883 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. She was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN. *Catharine Edwards' notes.

She was married to George W., Jr. WADE (son of George WADE and Frances BASEY) on 7 Mar 1867 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. George W., Jr. WADE was born on 9 Nov 1838 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He died on 17 Dec 1899 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN. *Catherine Edwards' notes.

Elizabeth Priscilla HARPER and George W., Jr. WADE had the following children:

1. Harper WADE was born on 9 Mar 1869 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He died on 19 Dec 1891 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN.

2.  Lyda Ora "Lady" WADE was born on 27 Mar 1871 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. She died on 4 Nov 1919 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. She was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN.

She was married first to (Second marriage to a Haussman.) Thomas Howell CRAIG on 20 Oct 1897 in Gibson Co., Tennessee.

Lyda Ora "Lady" WADE and Thomas Howell CRAIG had the following children:

1. Mary Elizabeth CRAIG was born on 25 Sep 1898. She died on 12 Dec 1987 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. Dates from tombstone. (Thanks to Catharine Edwards.) She was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN.

2. George Lewis CRAIG was born in Apr 1901. He died in 1905.

3. Dorothy CRAIG was born in 1905. She died in 1905. Died in infancy.

Henry D. Harper's second marriage was to Ruth JONES IRWIN, daughter of Thomas H. JONES and Catharine McKelroy "Katy" SHAW, on 22 Jan 1851 in Gibson Co., Tennessee, Bondsman T. J. Carthel.   Ruth JONES was born on 1 Feb 1819 in Maury Co., TN. She died on 16 Jun 1899 in Jackson, Madison Co., TN. She was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Gibson Co., TN. *Catherine Edwards' Notes

I couldn't find Prescilla and Henry D. Harper on the Gibson County, TN 1840 Census.

Gibson County marriage record of F. E. Becton to Pressilla Harper - Feb 18, 1838, N. D. Sandeford Bondsman. Not proven yet, but this could have been Henry Harper's mother.

Precella was his Mother. All the children listed, except one, was by Ruth's first marriage. Lizabeth/Elizabeth was Henry's daughter by 1st wife.

Henry D. Harper was a half brother to my William Harper, who died in Sumner County, Tennessee, 1836. (See Will of William Harper.)
