This is a listing of cemeteries located in Onslow County. If there any missing  please send the cemetery name and location so that it can be  added to this listing.  Your contributions will help make this list as complete as possible.

 

  • Ambrose-Hargett Cemetery – on east side of Hammock Beach Road, (west of Swansboro) approx. 2/10 miles north of Hammock Beach Park entrance, approx 200′ from road and approx 200′ south of Ned Lane.
  • Bell Cemetery – in Bear Creek area near Shell Rock Landing. South on Shell Rock Landing Road (SR 1503) appox 1/2 mile from intersection of Great Neck landing Road (SR 1508).
  • Bell Family Cemetery – Koonce Fork Road is a loop road. It lies on N.C. 24 on the south side of Richlands, NC. One end of the road is located on N.C. 24 east of Richlands, NC.
  • Bryan Cemetery –  at the intersection of Luther Banks Road & Cedar Fork Road.
  • Burnap-Taylor Cemetery – on north side of Belgrade/Swansboro Rd. (SR 1434) approx 3/10 mile west of Parkertown Rd., behind Coston home about 75 yards.
  • Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery – Montford Landing Rd off Lejeune Blvd. Jacksonville
  • Corbett Family Cemetery – at rear of large lawn area on west side of Dr. Corbett Rd. approx 1/2 mi off W. Main St. in Swansboro. On Main St. Dr. Corbett Rd. is first paved road to the right (east) when coming from Hwy 24. Cemetery is surrounded by low brick wall and nice lawn.
  • Coston and Davis Cemetery – 24311 Hwy 50 , Maple Hill, NC
  • Coston-Everitt Cemetery – on north side of Swansboro/Belgrade Rd (SR 1434), approx 3/10 mi. west of Parkertown Rd. approx 75 yards behind Coston family home, on edge of cultivated field. Maintained by family. Good Condition.
  • Cox Cemetery – located approximately 3 miles from Catherine Lake
  • Deer Island – south on Old Hammock road (SR 1512), one half mile from highway 24 turn left (east) on Deer Island Road (SR 1513). Cemetery 2/10 mile on left.
  • Frazier Cemetery – Bear Creek area. 2/10 mi east of intersection of Queens Creek Road (SR 1509) and Bear Creek Road (SR 1503), right on dirt lane named Old Hawkins Road, approx 100 yards on left edge of raod.
  • Fountain Cemetery (John R. Fountain) – on Hwy 111 South down the J. R. Fountain Cemetery lane next to the Back Swamp Community Building
  • Futrell Cemetery– take Highway #50 from Fountain town about 3 miles turn right on Back swamp Road Cemetery is on the left down a path about 3/10 miles just before you reach the Duplin county line. There is a sign at the entrance of path.
  • Glancy Cemetery – in Swansboro on north side of Glancy Road (SR 1559) approximately 2/10 mile from Old Hammock Road. Fenced and very well maintained.
  • Greer Cemetery – Gum Branch Rd. Jacksonville, NC
  • William D. Hargett Cemetery – approx 100 yeards north of Hargett Ave (in field), approx 4/10 mile from Swansboro/Belgrade Rd. (SR 1434) approx 2 mi north of NC 24. Cemetery is surrounded by white fence and is maintained by family who lives on property. Good condition.
  • Hemby Cemetery – on Hwy 53 almost across the road from South West Primitive Baptist Church.
  • Henderson (J.T.) Cemetery – located in Belgrade, NC
  • Horne Cemetery (Lewis Horne) – located at the corner of Hwy 111 South & Jarvis Lane.
  • Willie White Humphrey Cemetery – on Gregory Fork Rd and 3 miles out of Richlands.
  • Humphrey Cemetery – located at the intersection of Hwy 53 & Edwards Road (SR 1136) next to the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church.  This cemetery is set apart of the Walton Cemetery.
  • Humphrey-Reed Cemetery – maybe a mile or less onto 258 (from 24) on Quarry Trail, which is off Pebble Grove Drive.
  • Hunter Cemetery – in a field between at 2974 Catherine Lake Road (NC Hwy. 111) and 2954 Catherine Lake Road, Richlands, North Carolina. In the picture of the cemetery, the Williams house is in the background.
  • Jacksonville Cemetery – a few burials at BillionGraves.com
  • Thomas Jarman Cemetery – intersection of State Roads #1301 (Richlands Loop Rd) and #1300 (Barbee Road)
  • Kellum Baptist Church Cemetery – off Kellum Loop Road, Jacksonville.
  • Koonce Cemetery – near the intersection of Koonce Fork Road and Highway 24
  • Koonce Cemetery #2 – near Francktown & Comfort roads
  • Lovette Cemetery – from Piney Green road you turn onto Rocky Run Road. (located next to the Merrita Bread Store on Piney Green). Go down Rocky Run Road app. 3 1/2 miles and on the left hand side of the road you will see an iron sign that says Lovitt Family Cemetery.  It’s next to a farmer’s field. This cemetery is old and looks as if many markers are missing.
  • Marshburn Cemetery – located on Pony Farm Road beside 1555 Pony Farm Road.
  • Mattocks Cemetery – approximately 1 mile in the woods on White Oak River bank off State 1142 (Stella Road) at the Carteret County/Onslow County line.
  • Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery – on Stella Road, State Road 1442, Onslow County, North Carolina, near Carteret-Onslow line at White Oak River.
  • Montford Point Cemetery [pdf file]– off Highway 24, East of Jacksonville.
  • Morton Family Cemetery– off Grants Creek Road; State Road 1427 Jacksonville.
  • Northeast Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery [pdf file] – near 1650 Piney Green Road, Jacksonville, Onslow County, North Carolina (across the street from church site).
  • Odum-Carney Cemetery – Queens Creek Road, Swansboro
  • Old Georgetown Cemetery – off US17 about 0.5 miles down Broadhurst Rd (the road extends only one way off of US17) and adjacent to the Georgetown Park. It sits on an elevated parcel of land, and gradually slopes downward to the right.
  • Parker Mills Cemetery – on Highway 17 in the Belgrade Community of Maysville.
  • Phillips Family Cemetery – Queens Creek Road, Swansboro.
  • Pittman Family Cemetery – off Grants Creek Road; State Road 1427 Jacksonville.
  • Ephraim Rochelle Cemetery – off Grants Creek Road; State Road 1427 Jacksonville.

  • Russell-Freshwater Cemetery – Stewart Point Road Hubert.
  • Sanders Cemetery – on Hwy # 50 South (W. Ocean Hwy) about 3 miles from the intersection of Haws Run Road and Hwy # 50 S. on the right & about 1.5 miles past the intersection of Padgett Road & Hwy # 50. This Cemetery is divided into four sections by a chain link fence.
  • D.W. Sanders Cemetery – djacent to 2310 Belgrade-Swansboro Road, Maysville.
  • Isaac Sanders Cemetery – on Sanders private property off Bear Creek Road, Hubert.
  • Southwest Primitive Baptist Church – on Hwy 53 at the Intersection of SR 1217
  • John W. Smith Cemetery – On south side of Hargett Ave approx 6/10 mi from Belgrade/Swansboro Rd (SR 1434). Cemetery is in woods on a rise approx 100 ft from rd. Hargett Ave is approx 2.4 miles north of NC 24 on east side of Belgrade/Swansboro Rd. Cemetery is overgrown, and hidden in woods without established path. Stones good cond.
  • Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery – along Belgrade-Swansboro Road, Maysville.
  • Thompson Family Cemetery – Richlands Highway, Richlands
  • Trott Cemetery – off Highway 17 North of Jacksonville, Onslow County, North Carolina deep in woods area near Deppe Community.
  • Wallace Cemetery – behind and the house and lot known as 201 North Wilmington Street, Richlands. It is enclosed by an iron fence.
  • Walton Cemetery – at the Intersection of Hwy 53 & Edwards Road ( SR 1136) next to the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church
  • Waters Cemetery – off Waters Road; State Road 1411, Jacksonville.
  • Watson Cemetery – Turn onto the Swansboro/Belgrade Road off of Hwy. 24. Go down about 1 mile and turn on the first left. There is a sign that says Piney Grove Baptist Church. To the right you will see Piney Grove Cemetery, directly next to it in a field there is a chain link fence. Inside this chain link fence is the Watson cemetery.
