    North Carolina Tyrrel County in St. In persuant to an Order of Vestry past ye 5th of June 1747. We the Prossessioners met in our District ye Bark popler Swamp y the Indian Swamp and proceeded as follows: ---



    Begining at the Norman Land and there being 597 Acres Land held by five of them and there doth belong to Jon. Norman 125 Acres of Land y to Elijah Norman 125 Acres of Land y to Joseph Norman 120 Acres of Land and to Nehemiah Norman 100 Acres of Land y to Jeremiah Norman 127 Acres of Land y the Sd. Land Lying Binding and Joyning upon the Bay Pecossen to the Cyprus Swamp binding upon the Sd. Swamp to a Pine and from thence by a Line of marked Trees to the Indian Swamp and down the Sd. Swamp to the first Station. ---
    And from thence to Samuel Spruells Land begining at a Pine upon Poolcat Swamp and then down the Sd. Swamp to the Norman Line, then binding upon the Sd Line to the Cyprus Swamp then binding upon the Sd Swamp to a Popler a Corner Tree and from thence to first Station containing 330 Acres of Land held by a Patern. ---
    And from thence to the Land of Jon. Davenport y Isaac Davenport their Land binding upon the Creek Pecossen to the flat Swamp

then up the Sd. Swamp to the Cross Branch then along the Cross Branch to the Cyprus Swamp then down the Sd. Swamp to the first Station containing 450 (?) Acres of Land.


    And from thence the Land of Stephen Norman and Samuel Norman and John Chesson being all in One Patern begining Stephen Norman Land at a Pine upon the Head of the Cyprus Swamp and runing down the Sd. Swamp y therto a Beach then Begining the Sd Chesson Land and along the Line down to a White Oake a Corner Tree then binding upon the Devenport Line and from thence to a Gum a Corner Tree and from thence to a Pine and from thence to a White Oak a Corner Tree and from thence to a black Gum to the first Station there doth belong to John Chesson 100 Acres of Land out of the Sd Patern and Likewise to Samuel Norman 52 Acors of Land and Likewise to Stephen Norman 50 Acres of Land.
    And from thence to ye. Land of Jacob Davenports D. C. y is now held by William Davenport and the Legaties of Jacob Davenport D. C. Begining at the flat Swamp Bridge at a Gum then up the Deep Swamp about half a Mile and then a Cross to the back Line and then down the back Line to the flat Swamp to a Pine then along the Sd. Swamp to the first Station this is William Davenports Part of the Land containing 114 Acres of Land.
    And we have been twice to prossesion the other Part that doth belong to the Legaties of Jacob Davenport D. C. and Neither the Widow

nor the Executor James Davenport Came to Shew us the Line and their 104 Acres of Land belongs to them the Legaties of ye. Sd Jacob Davenport D. C.


    From thence to the Land of John Snell D. C. and is now held by the Lagaties of the Sd. Snell Begining at a Beach Power's Island from thence to the Gum Swamp and then along the Gum Swamp to the Deep Swamp then along the Deep Swamp to a Pine and from thence to a Pine upon the Pecossen then up the Sd Pecossen to the first Station Containing 300 Acors of Land.
    From thence to the Land of James Wiley upon the Head of Bark popler Swamp Containing 100 of Land held by Patern.
    And from thence to the Land of Edward Phelps Begining at a Gum upon the River Pecossin John Bateman's Corner Tree then along the Sd. Bateman's Line to the Body of Reeds then up the Sd. Body of Reeds to the Hooles (?) to a Corner Tree then to his Brothers James Phelps Line to the River Percossen then along the Sd. Percossen to the first Station Containing 162 Acors of Land.
    And from thence to the Land of James Phelps Begining at the River Percossin upon his Brothers Edward Phelps Line then along the Sd Phelpses Line to Bull Branch then alon Bull Branch to the River Percossin to the first Station Containing 369 (?) Acors of Land.

    And from thence to the Land of Thomas Davis and there was no Lines to be found and that the Sd. Davis Refussed to go to the Cost of Runing the Lines and he the Sd Thomas Davis hath Sold Barbara Hares One Hundred Acors of Land and hath given a Deed for the Same and hath not laid it of and for that Reason that not prossesioned Neither.


    This is a true Coppy of our Proceedings according to Law and the Summens to us directed as Witness our hands the 27th of April Anno Dom: 1748.

Tyrrel County  }   These are to Certifie that on the last Day of August 1748 we the Subscribers appointed at the Dwelling House of Will Rhoades Senr. of Sd County to Settell the Disputed bounds of Land Betwen the said William & Thos. Lee Pursut to order of Court on the first Day of Senr in the year aforesaid Proceeded on the Testamony of John Browning Senr. on Oath & Begun at a Hickery which the said John Testifyed to be one of the Line Trees of sd Land Survayed by Collo. Maul & then Set the Corses mentioned in the sd Thomas his plat and Cum Straight to a Pine marked as usall for afore & after Tree which said pine the aforesd John Aserted to be of the said Line Run by the Said maul then the sd Courses Continued to an ash in Coneby Creek Swamp within Twelve or thirteen poles of a Stump of a Decayed Tree heretofore Alledged by the sd Thos. & others to be a Corner Tree of his Land which sd Ash from sd Hickery is S 10 D E then from the said Hickery along the Remains & Whare the Same Could not be Aseartained No 10 D W along a Small pecossion to an ash on the side of moratock River In Witness whareunto we have hereunto Set our hands this Sixth Day of Jan (?) in the year aforesd. it is to be understood that the sd old Lines & Courses are the bounds Sertuated between the persans Principally Concerned { W. These may Certify that we the Subscribers on the fourth Tusday in October an Dom 1748 Assembled at the Dweling house of Abraham Hasell of Tyrrel County to Run or Lay ought the Disputed Bounds of Land Between the sd Abraham & Godfrey Phelpes and haveing then & there Declared to the said Abraham and Godfrey the Cause of our Cuming Proceeded Purst to order of Court Agreable to the Writeings Produced by the sd parties and the Testemony of Edward Hasell to Settell the Said bounds / being first Duly Qualified / Begining at a Cyprass at the mouth of Riders Creek then by a Line of Marked Trees through the said Creek Swamp and f---son (?) to David Olivers line heretofore in Dispute in Dispute Between the said Abraham and Godfrey then Along the said Line Renewing the marks thereof to a Holley thence South fifty four Degrees west to a pine in the sd Creek Swamp which Swamp being impassable Alowed the sd Courses to Continew to the sd Creek which Lines and Courses we order Deem Decree & Judg to be the Bounds between the sd Abraham & Godfrey as witness Our hands the Day & year Above sd W. Turnbull Esqr. & of Cap William Mackey & Mrs. Elizabeth Bell all of Tyrrel County well Inclined well Inclined to Settle the Disputed bounds of Land Between the Sd James Turnbull Esqr and the Land of Mrs. Elizabeth Bell otherwise the Land of the Afsd Capn William Mackey so Caled Purst to order of Court and haveing Declared to the parties aforesd the Cause of meeting the sd James Turnbull Refused to Give any Intelig Attendance though offen thereunto Required upon which Refusall we prayed his Worship to Qualify as to Proceed on Setteling the sd bounds which he the said Jas. Also Refused too on the Day then Next Enforcing with much Taugteadg (?) obland Qualification.
