803. Walter Zebulon "Zeb" PRICE^170,662 was born on 2 January 1881 in North Carolina.⁶⁶² He died on 10 April 1963 at the age of 82.⁶⁶² He was buried in New Friendship Lutheran Cemetery, Alexander County, NC.⁶⁶³
BIOGRAPHY: "Their first home, which they moved into June 1903, after living with Zeb's brother Poly and his wife Amanda, for two months, was a log house with boarding on the outside, wooden shutters and consisted of two rooms. The house was located in what is now Wittenburg Township of Alexander County and was owned by Will Smith. They carried water from a spring nearby. There was a tannery located at the spring and Zeb and his brother, Poly peeled bark which they sold to the tannery.
Walter Z. Price was a farmer most of his life. He and his brother, Furch bought a tract of land, which Zeb later bought his brother's part, and built a new house. They moved into their new home November 1908. The house was built by Luther Price, Zeb's brother. Three of their nine children were born while they were living in the log house.
Walter Z. Price bought several tracts of land near his new home and owned approximately 105 acres, which is now owned by his nine children." From Marie Price.

2437	viii.	Leona Dorcas PRICE was born on 30 September 1921 in Alexander County, North Carolina.¹²²⁴ She died on 8 November 2012 at the age of 91 in Taylorsville, Alexander County, North Carolina. She was buried in Friendship Lutheran Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, Alexander County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: Leona D. Price, 91, of Church Road, Taylorsville, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 at her home. She was born in Alexander County, September 30, 1921 daughter of the late Walter Z. and Lucy Sipe Price. She was retired from the Snack Bar in Hickory where she was a waitress with many talents. Beyond serving her customers she brought laughter comfort and joy. She had the ability to make many lasting and endearing friendships. Her major hobby was gardening with a special interest in cultivating many flowers and plants, many of which she shared with others. In addition she found joy in being able to deliver meals on wheels in her community. Leona was a role model for her family especially her nieces and nephews. She led by example in her demeanor and behavior. Most importantly she lived her life as an example for one to follow. Leona will be missed by family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Friendship Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Levi, Roy, Clifford, Willard and Raymond Price; a sister, Vertie Eckard. Survivors include a sister, Marie Price of Taylorsville and a brother, Jay Lee Price and wife, Virginia Belle of Stony Point, and a sister in law, Annie Price of Taylorsville. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Friendship Lutheran Church. The Reverends Todd Rauscher and Phil Thorsen will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Friendship Lutheran Church, 5300 Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681, or to Hospice of Alexander County, 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
