THE WAR OF THE REGULATORS, & THE BATTLE OF ALAMANCE
The Battle of Alamance occurred in what was then Orange County, and a number of former Orange residents, in an area which became part of Guilford County later that year, participated in the battle and the events surrounding it. The area of the battle, near Alamance Creek, and less than two miles from the current Guilford County border, became part of Alamance County in 1849.
