JAMES MOSELEY, of New Hanover Co., to JOSEPH MONTFORT, of Halifax Co.

26 Sept. 1763. Re-sale of his 1/6 undivided share of 10,000 A. in Granville Co., formerly called Edgecomb, between Great Fishing Creek & Shocco Creek, commonly called 'Clan Seat', granted by the late Lord Proprietors of the Carolinas 4 Nov. 1728 to EDWARD MOSELEY, Esq., late of New Hanover Co., dec'd.; devised, in a Codicil of his will, made 20 March 1745, to his six sons: JOHN, EDWARD, SAMPSON, JAMES, THOMAS & WILLIAM. After his death the first three sons sold the land to JOSEPH MONTFORT, 26 March 1763, agreeing that each of the three younger brothers would convey his share as he became of age.
