272 (A) Will of JOHN MELONS. Dated & February 1774. Recorded May Court 1774. Sons WOOD MELONS & FREDERICK MELONE to each have half of my land, excepting the land bought from JAMES DOZIER which is to be sold and "for the land I bought for my son WOOD MELONS of NATHANIEL BAXTER." FREDERICK to have land where I now live, and to make certain provision for his mother, for her life. Son-in-law JAMES DOZER. "Son" EDWARD DAVIS. Son-in-law GEORGE TUCKER. Residue of Estate and icrease of negroes to be divided among all my children after death of my wife (not named). Executors: My two sons WOOD MALONE and FREDERICK MALONE. Wit: THOMAS NEWMAN, LED TUCKER, MARY TUCKER.

274 (A) Will of WOOD MALONE. Dated 9 February 1774. Recorded May Court 1774. Wife BARSHEBA MALONE. Sons WILLIAM & THOMAS MALONE to have land I bought from NATHANIEL BAXTER, on Sixpound (torn) to be equally divided between them after my son WILLIAM MELONE reaches the age of 21. Money from the hire of negro to be used for schooling, boarding, and clothing my two sons. Land left me by my father JOHN MALONE to be sold and money divided between my two sons, after debts are paid. No land on East side of Sixpound to be cleared. Executors: THOMAS MILLER, FREDERICK MALONE, & Wife BARSHEBA MALONE. Witnesses: THOMAS MILLER, JR., JOHN BALTHROP, SUSANNA NICHOLSON.

275 (A) Will of MILBROUGH CARROLL. Dated 1 April 1773. Recorded May Court 1774. Son THOMAS CARROLL. Son CHARLES CARROLL, land in Brunswick County, Va. To BETTY WILKINS. Exrs: Sons THOMAS & CHARLES CARROLL and JOHN MOSELEY. Wit: STEPHEN SHELL, SARH BRTT, REBEKAH JOHNSON.

276 BENJAMIN HILL to THOMAS HILL, JR. Dated 29 March 1773. Sale of two negroes. Wit: ROBERT HILL, JOHN COLE. Recorded May Court 1774.

277 Bond and Agreement with reference to a bridge over Sandy Creek. GREEN HILL & THOMAS BELL were appointed to contract for same. Bridge was completed by JOHN FOSTER 10 October 1772 and JOHN FOSTER gives bond, dated 11 May 1774, to Jus tices of Inferior Court for keeping same in repair for seven years from date of completion. Securities in bond: NICHOLAS MURPHEY and WILLIAM HILL. Wit: JINKS DEV Y(torn). Recorded May Court 1774.

278 GEORGE HARPER, planter, to DINWIDDIE CRAUFORD & CO., Merchts. Dated 10 March 1773. Mortgage on household goods and livestock, including a mare bought from CHARLES HEYMS(?) of Mecklinburgh County, Va., to secure indebtedness. Wit: JOHN HAMILTON, CHS. GALBRAITH. Recorded May Court 1774.
